Figured out the “charge only use device” message when attempting to update my APIM, I was using a usb 3.0 stick. As soon as I grabbed a 2.0 stick it worked perfectly. I’m fairly certain the usb 3 one worked when I did the GWM A update.
I used a USB 3.0 to fully update my 21 from its OG software versions without any issues

Hi everyone. Got a question for the people who know more about this. I've been attempting to get my Truck (2021 Powerboost build 1) to update with the 4.3.4 update. Everytime I try to get it done it states one of the preconditions are not met. I've done lights off, doors locked, emergency brake on, and after a good decent 20 minute trip (additionally I've tried rubbing my stomach while patting my head and jumping on one leg as well). I've tried over wireless and with wireless turned off. The only think I haven't tried yet is to have it hooked up to a trickle charge since it's possible my battery may just not have the ampage it needs to get the update through. Any insights or thoughts would be most appreciated it.

Very same experience. Try charging battery. This got me through a couple OTA updates.

I eventually had to replace the battery.

2022 get all the love right now. ?‍♂
I'm a 2022 with nothing since I manually updated a couple of months ago with FDRS. I haven't checked since, but I haven't gotten any OTA either.

I'll catch up when I see some worthy activity get discussed here. :)

Oh I'm not worried about it.
Just waiting for the guinea pig trucks to come here and complain about issues before Ford gets around me. ?

I know of a few people that already installed it without any issues.

Edit: With that said, a reliable source says that the 6.4.0 (TCU update) OTA was pulled by Ford. First trucks to get it were the Lightnings. About 6 people reported the update failing and one reported that it went through. I am guessing it went through for him before Ford pulled it. I would assume they pulled it for a reason.

Probably made the truck think it's an ICE engine. ?

It wouldn't be the first time. I remember a Fordpass app update telling ICE trucks that they needed to be charged.

I still can't figure out how to plug in my Powerstroke truck. Maybe this is how...

Do you know what the TCU version it was? I wonder if I maybe got it as that was the last FDRS update that made it self available for me the other week. SU5T-14H085-GE is what I have right now.

First time FDRS user on a loaner Mongoose cable on a '21 PowerBoost I bought 2 weekends ago that was never previously updated... Been at it since about 9am this morning, about 3 or 4 updates, and just now up to v21146 rev 145.

I didn't read thourgh all 730 pages but in skimming it looks like that's an early 2022 vintage. What I'm saying is I don't think my 2 day rental license is gonna be enough ...

As long as you don't have a bunch of GWM, APIM or IPMA updates you should be able to do them all in a day
