Do you know what the TCU version it was? I wonder if I maybe got it as that was the last FDRS update that made it self available for me the other week. SU5T-14H085-GE is what I have right now.
Sorry, I missed this, but yes.....GE is the new one.

First time FDRS user on a loaner Mongoose cable on a '21 PowerBoost I bought 2 weekends ago that was never previously updated... Been at it since about 9am this morning, about 3 or 4 updates, and just now up to v21146 rev 145.

I didn't read thourgh all 730 pages but in skimming it looks like that's an early 2022 vintage. What I'm saying is I don't think my 2 day rental license is gonna be enough ...
Ok, so I will take you off the list to borrow one of mine.

As long as you don't have a bunch of GWM, APIM or IPMA updates you should be able to do them all in a day
I started with GWM, APIM and then IPMA -- which was by far the longest. It finished about 15 minutes after I posted and since then I've knocked out about 8-10 more in the last hour. And another GWM update is now showing. I do hope you are correct though.

A dozen or so updates later and FordPass finally works! Pretty pumped as I had halfway convinced myself this vehicle didn't have a functioning modem. Wahoo! Y'all are the best. Special thanks to @Jesse-Infotainment for the offline help getting started and @mdomicolo for the cable! :)

Really appreciate the offer, just decided to dive in as I had some time today and this weekend. Since it appears to be working we should be all good here. Thanks again.

@rugedraw I'd be willing to toss my cable into the lineup to help with the backlog if needed
A few people have offered to do so on the thread I have going, but nobody has taken anybody up on the their offer. I assume people have apprehensions sending $500 to a stranger from the internet, and understandably so. It took a few months for the first person to actually borrow one of mine, and once people saw it was legit, it kinda took off. I guess since I have been around here for a bit, I am more trusted, but I will post it in the thread so anyone waiting will know about it. Thanks.

I would just add that I was apprehensive for the reasons you cite and personally chose to pay the additional ~$17 insurance by using Goods and Services rather than Friends and Family... absolutely worth it for the additional peace of mind if you are on the fence or a noob here as I was 10 days ago.

Ah... wonderful. That might be why I keep getting fantom OTA scheduler reminders then, another one popped up again today then disappeared. Strange enough, the version I had prior to the update was SU5T-14H085-NF, so not sure if the software is going backwards, or I went backwards to go forwards, or what.

  1. 900am - Getting setup. Downloading, installing stuff for the Mongoose cable and FDRS. Spend at least 30 minutes fighting with the damned Windows Firewall...
  2. 953am - First successful test - Network scan run.
  3. <many, many, many hours later>
  4. 1030pm - 32nd update of the day and 4th GWM Software Update of the day completes...
I see a bit more clearly now why dealers don't want to mess with this at all. Even though I only had one failed update all day it's still pretty much a big time sink (USB error and simple restart worked the 2nd time around). I was in the truck pretty much all day babysitting and I just don't see them doing that so it's going to take them even longer.

Super stoked about the progress so far though. After the final GWM update tonight, another APIM update appeared, but seems like I'm getting pretty close. All the way up to version 22293 rev 610 now. I still don't see where the other format some of y'all have are reported (something like 1.x.y) - where is that info?

1.x.y? If you are referring to the old update 1.7.1, that was an OTA. You won't see that of your updating with FDRS.

By the way, if you're by 22293, you now have full screen CarPlay/AA.

And yea....... techs at dealers hate this sh*t. Lol

Ahh that makes sense. None of my connectivity stuff worked before today so hadn’t seen OTA yet.

Very excited about full screen projection. Now I just I wish we could also get non-CarPlay apps when the vehicle’s in park.

So you were able to FDRS past the broken APIM versions?

All I know is that he has been tenacious!
By starting with a 2021 this late in the game, he just installed the most updates in the shortest time span yet.

He is no longer driving the same truck he had just a couple of days ago.
