Honestly @PizzamanJon if you have the funds skip the dealership and the frustration and just go buy a good quality battery. With you living in Bangor you're about to hit the wicked cold part of winter and you'll thank yourself later when your battery works perfect all winter long.

After you turn the truck off and wait 10-15 minutes with the USB inserted, make sure you actually restart the truck—engine on. Some people continue to get this notice because they only turn on the ignition and then get this pop up. You have to turn the engine on. Then wait at least five minutes while idling or until you get a pop up that says the update completed, whichever occurs first, before removing the drive.

Yes truck gets fully powered off. Waited 30+ minutes, came back and powered the engine up. Waited 10 minutes and still no update successful screen.

That happened to me as well. After 20 min I bailed and assumed it worked bc it passed the test

Well, damn. @PizzamanJon your update process just got more expensive. I know you took the day off. Make a surprise visit to your dealer and see if they'll swap it out under warranty. Like I said before, hold on to the Mongoose until you can finish the job. This would explain why you never saw the message about leaving the driver's side door open for ten minutes.

Edit: I would not say the real reason why you're asking for a battery replacement. If you say you were trying to update the truck yourself and you believe the battery is bad, I doubt they'll listen to you. Say that your truck is giving constant messages about going to sleep mode to conserve power and that your auto start/stop is not working. They'll most likely perform a battery test and as long as it fails, you should be good to go.

Wait. Nothing showed up? Not even a restart required pop up? If nothing showed up after waiting at least five minutes with the truck idling and the usb in the hub, it probably went through fine. FDRS prompts you to say YES to update successful if you see nothing/no errors. Check the version in about sync.

Just left the dealership. They told me I’d have to schedule that. Told me it takes 2-3 hours to test the battery for a warranty replacement. They did a generic test and said I was fine.

They probably tested it inside truck not bench testing it.

I don't think he knows how to answer that. First time using FDRS. He was on Sync 22146, so it must have gone through.

@PizzamanJon Time to go back to work with the updates. Maybe driving the truck charged up the battery enough. As was mentioned before, when it gets cold, that battery is going to struggle, so get it now or get it later.
