No. Accessory is fine. I’d just go ahead and try to update it. Some of these might clear from updating. GWM will require a USB drive, exFAT format. The DTC is a communication error. Not serious.

Got it. And I can’t win with these updates. USB is exfat 32gb usb2.0. The updates are showing on the computer when I look at the drive.

Eight or fewer alphanumeric characters. I usually just leave the name blank to be safe.

Yes, name the USB something short like "ford" or "sync". Make sure you are plugging into the slot under the touchscreen and not the one in the center console storage under the arm rest.

Try leaving the name blank when you reformat. If that doesn’t work, you might need another drive. You are using the right port.

Try a different USB. I had this fancy looking Samsung USB drive that my truck didn't like. I switched to a cheap USB drive that that a vendor at my job was handing out because it was the only other one I had. My truck loves it and have been using it for this for well over a year.

@PizzamanJon Take a step back....relax....try not to get frustrated. There is no rush to get the Mongoose back to me. Worst-case scenario, you'll have to pay another $50 to get another license and you can finish over the weekend.
