Glad I got my 21 Plati. I don't like anything about the new design. The long white piece on the side of headlight seems like it's too long. Agree with Plat tailgate applique needing to be there. Tires look little. Nah, I'm good. I love my 21 model year. Superb.

Generic tailgate is probably just a placeholder and not final. I wouldn't expect them to change that design element now when it is used across models. Personally always thought it was a bit silly looking but I'm not in the Platinum market.

Looks like it has a Tremor/Bap style hood with chrome vents.

The lit emblems are a bit childish IMO, but to each their own. Hope they remain an 'option' and not standard. I'm also not a big fan of the current metal applique on the KR, Plat, Limited models. I agree it adds a little "upscale" something but needs a redesign, they look dated. But I do like the looks of the BOP on the Plat when on a white or silver truck.
The wheels look like 20"s which is what the Plats run, right? I thought only the Limited runs on 22"s.
One more thing, hard to tell if the pictures were taken below 45mph but they may have removed the motorized air dam. I had a loaner STX last month and noticed it didn't have one either. I thought all F-150's came with them. Or is that a parts shortage thing?

The black appliqué is a HUGE selling point for me on the BAP platinums. It’s the main reason I chose a platinum over a lariat

Yes. It does look much better than the stainless. I thought the twin exhaust pipes are part of the BOP?

According to the Ford Authority article referenced, Ford is adding 22" to the Platinum for 2024 MY. The aspect ratio on those tires looks like a 50 series to me (275/50/22), which implies 22" wheels as they fill the wheel well about the same as 20"s running 275/60/20 series tires - both 33"s. Kinda hard to tell with the wheels rolling though. I am not sure if the 22"s are standard for Platinum, or an option. Honestly, if they are standard, they should just ditch the Limited trim as this is mostly a clone now.

As for the air dam, any truck with the snow plow prep package removes the active air dam. However, I don't think you can order the snow plow prep on any trim north of XLT. Your STX might have had the snow prep package. I know a few in Texas that ordered it just to remove the air dam. Thus, at least til now, all Lariats, KR, Plats, Limiteds had them unless you removed them yourself. Might just be they were going 35-40 and it had not deployed, no way they ditched that system with the fuel economy expectations Ford is under.

The wheels on this 24 Plat even appear to be the same wheels on the 23 Limited:

We can also safely add Rapid Red to the 2024 color wheel, not that we doubted it would be there. I am sure that Agate Black, Oxford White, Rapid Red, Antimatter Blue, Carbonized Gray, Iconic Silver, Race Red, Star White will be on every Gen 14 truck. The rest may rotate.
Rapid Red and Star White being the only two of that group that cost additional $ correct?

To the best of my knowledge, that is correct. Star white being more expensive than rapid red. Rapid red has a red tinted clear coat and is 3 layers (prime, base, clear) and star white is a “tri coat” (which is a reference to 3 layers of top coat on top of prime) so it has prime, base, mica, and clear

Back late 2021/early 2022 there was a lot of speculation that 2024 would be the first year of the sectioned swing gate tailgate that ford has a patent on. None seen here.
