  1. 2026 F-150 Ruby Red Metallic - First Looks

I had Ruby Red on my three previous F-150's and one of my wife's Ford Escapes (she hated having two vehicles the same color but we got a good deal on the Escape). My current truck would have been Kodiak Brown or Ruby Red also had Ford not discontinued the Kodiak and replaced the Ruby Red color...
  2. First camper pull with my new 2025 502A PowerBoost

But remember, those quiet generators run constantly, your truck runs a very efficient duty cycle where it is off more than it is on unless you are really drawing a lot of current.
  3. Poll: Powerboost Fuel Efficiency

I refueled last night and after I added the fill to my tracking sheet, I decided to see what I have achieved for mileage over 76,448 miles. Turns out, including maybe 5% of towing miles, it is 18.902 mpg. Here is to hoping it will improve after I get a few more miles on the truck :like:
  4. Road Trip mileage/mpg results with PowerBoost 2024 F-150 King Ranch 4x4

I get my best mileage between 45 and 60 mph but it falls off significantly around town, though not as bad as you are seeing. These trucks seem to be hit or miss on fuel mileage, with some getting way better than rated, some getting right around rated, and some getting way below rated...
  5. 🌌 Northern Lights & Truck Views

Most often when they are predicted it is overcast but we do get lucky from time to time. We had a good display last August and again earlier this week for a couple of nights (Sorry I couldn't get my truck in the photos, these are looking out my home office window overlooking back yard):
  6. Road Trip mileage/mpg results with PowerBoost 2024 F-150 King Ranch 4x4

Your mileage is comparable to what I see with my 22 PowerBoost. I see better mileage in the summer so it will be dropping off soon; here is my Sep-Oct fuel mileage:
  7. Analysis of BlueCruise in rural southwest. What's your experience?

Actually, on BlueCruise equipped trucks, BlueCruise is also the lane centering function when not on Ford mapped restricted access roadways . If you want to drive those secondary roads with lane centering to help keep the truck between the lane lines, you have to activate BlueCruise. Because of...
  8. How many miles and years have you been able to get out of your Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires?

29873 and they were at minimum tread at that time. The Michelin LTX AT2 that I put on in their place have taken me to 70,000 and are still showing plenty of tread remaining. I always rotate with each oil change every 5000 miles.
  9. Lasting Damage From Intentional Short Circuit?

Modern microcircuits can be very sensitive to transient voltages (the spark) and can be susceptible to latent failures if exposed but not properly protected within the circuit. A latent failure could fail within weeks or could last years before finally giving up the circuit. Manufacturer's...
  10. 2024 PB Transmission

Unfortunately, I think the 10R80 transmission is "hit or miss" from Ford on how smoothly it shifts. For the first few years after introduction it had a LOT more misses than hits but I think Ford has made progress on the transmission responses to upshifting and down shifting. I still see posts...
  11. PowerBoost MPG - WTH??

Just looked at my mileage log and did the calculation from when I accepted the vehicle in June of 2022 until my last fill a few days ago: 18.66 mpg over 63,500 miles. I have to say the fuel mileage has held up much better than my previous 2019 502A 3.5 EcoBoost and the truck itself has as...
  12. Dorman claims to have a fix for Max Tow axle bolt failure ....

While I was still maintaining the spreadsheet of axle bolt failures on the other forum, there was one built in March of 23 that experienced a bolt failure. I don't think the spreadsheet is being maintained any longer.
  13. I really don't get the PB hate.

The only issues I've had over 63000 miles are not related to the Powerboost drivetrain; one max tow axle bolt break and one leaking rear differential seal. Overall I'm pleased with the Powerboost performance, it gets up and goes when I need it to and I've used the generator to power my travel...
  14. New powerboost mpg

My winter fuel mileage comes in just over 17 mpg average(includes some remote starts and warm-up prior to driving):
  15. BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now

Doesn't that entail a Windows computer and licenses for FDRS and Forscan; none of which I currently have? Ford should be rolling updates out to customers if they want to retain subscriptions. Supposedly that was the purpose of the OTA capabilities in these trucks.
  16. BLUECRUISE 1.4 IS HERE!!! Update Installing Now

I'll believe it when I see it. If I get it, I might sign up to renew my subscription, otherwise I'm done with BC.
  17. '22 vs '24 MPG difference

Have you performed the AFE (Average Fuel Economy)Bias adjustment in Engineering Mode? I tracked actual vs displayed fuel economy for the truck's first 3000 miles, using that info to calculate the AFE Bias which I then put into the truck's computer. I just checked and since January of 2023 my...
  18. '22 vs '24 MPG difference

Haha...been below zero a couple of mornings here recently, too; gotta admit I give the truck a few minutes to warm up before I head out in the morning so my MPG suffers in winter for sure.
  19. '22 vs '24 MPG difference

Fuel mileage from the Powerboost has always been very vehicle dependent. My '22 PB has averaged 19.5 mpg over its 57,000 mile life; others have gotten better while still others have gotten poorer fuel economy from theirs. You are just experiencing a bit of that variation with your new truck.
  20. Consumer Reports Trashes the PB Again

How does one go about installing BlueCruise 1.4? This is the first I've heard of its availability. I'm guessing you are talking about an update requiring FORScan?
