Thats good and I'm not one to be quick to disregard official instructions but I was at an unacceptable place. I'd already consulted a dealer and the answer was to ignore the warnings on the dash.

That wasn't gonna happen so I tried it this way.

Once and done. It really was this simple and it really worked that well.
well, whatever works for you. I would agree that if you are charging a dead battery than sure go directly to the terminals. However, if you’re just maintaining a battery and keeping it topped off because the truck sits for 23 days a week two weeks then downstream the BMS is what’s work for me

The point is, I didn't need to do any topping off, ever again.

ok, decided to pick up the Noco5 from Walmart first before getting a new battery. They did have a few H7s there. Waited about 20min after shutdown before connecting. I'm going to first connect it as recommended and if this doesn't bear fruit, I'll connect it directly to the posts and/or try the repair mode. In less than 20min it went from no lights to flashing green. It's been flashing green for about 45min and voltage is toggling between 12.9 and 13.6. Planning to reset the BMS once I pull the charger and see how many days I can go before Fordpass screams again.

Install the permanent cable ends to the proper fastening points, and velcro the Noco5 on top of the flat surface of the BCM by the firewall.

Then all you ever need to do is plug the Noco5 into an extension chord.

But then I can't use it on the Explorer ST that uses the same exact battery. Or maybe this is just a F150 issue. Hrmm. Hoping this supplemental charging isn't a regular thing.

13.9 now after 2 hrs of charging...

Those types of plugs are ubiquitous. Just about every batt charger comes with them and can be bought online to install in several vehicles and just round robin the charger as needed.

You know, this thread is about a no-charge solution ;)

And back to 12.9 again while flashing. Guessing this thing does that continually as part of the process.

We may be talking about the same "flashing" green light, but mine will eventually go to a slow pulsing green. I believe this indicates a conditioning/re-conditioning state.

In my "retired" state, I only average about 500 miles per month. I usually plug the Noco in once a week (Sat or Sun) for an overnight juicing no matter what my driving habits have been for the previous week. Since starting this a couple months ago, I have not had any problems with the system going into a powersave mode.

I was thinking that it sounds like it's testing and possibly desulfating the batts. A lot of chargers will auto desulfate if it believes it needs it.

I hope that when someone builds a direct drop in, in LiFePO4, you get a cut.
I am willing to invest in a custom made direct swap LFP if someone knows a manufacturer and wants to partner up! Of course, provided the cost is not some crazy ass number.

Would probably be easier to get a custom lower box to mount a standard size lfp into printed than mess a custom battery.

This is exactly what an entrepreneurial person would do. I've thought about having a friend 3d print a battery box with provisions for the OEM battery along with my X2 to run parallel in the same enclosure. It probably wouldn't take much work, but I doubt very many people want to spend $200 on a battery and another $50-70 on a battery box.
