So I thought I was home free after being able to scan my modules.
But I still can't get any control or monitoring of the ecm. I can't do any evap, o2, cam timing, ignition data.
It's like ford is keeping me off the bus.
First I tried with a high dollar scanner. Price doesn't mean much.
I have a obdmx+ and still have no data from engine control. Just trying to read the o2 sensor is a fail.
Is there something in a 2020 can bus that limits what we are able to do? Like test out radiator fans, monitor my climate control dampers.
I have a damper not working. I can't see where I can monitor or adjust.
I don't have this issue with any other vehicle. Just this one. Every function I try to do with scanners results with vehicle not supported. Do I need a specific license to gain access?
Or do I need fdrs? That will suck as it's pricy.
I'm only seeing one canbus when I get a topography display. Usually on most vehicles there are high, med, and low speed bases. Even looking at all data electrical data bus there are several.
I must be doing something wrong or ford has locked us out.

In order to see the other busses your scan device has to connect to ford servers. I have both a Mongoose and a topdon ultra. With a Mongoose and fdrs license AND a internet connection. I get access to my intire network. Without a internet connection I get basic data buss.
Same goes with the topdon. It has a high end vcmII. If I run a scan on my truck without internet I get limited data. When I have internet I get the whole enchilada. I can do just about everything with my scanner that I can with fdrs and a license with exception of applying updates. Saves 50 bucks for normal service. But it costs 3500.00
A Mongoose and internet is your cheapest route.
So yes you need connection to ford's servers.
