Temperature readout showing in HVAC control knobs for 2023 F-150?

Does anyone have a good video or photo journal of doing the physical Swap? At least just pulling the interior trim bits. I watched the vid linked above and it is for the previous gen truck.

i Haven’t pulled apart any of my vehicle interiors since my 07 fusion to add an ipod cable! (And that wasn’t very invasive) No fear of diy but don’t want to guess and check on a brand new truck. Trying to learn as much as I can before the truck arrives.

I feel like with the heated wheel delete this will be popular and there are a lot of YouTube views in it for someone with a channel…..

No, it will not affect other modules. open the HVAC module and click “save all” and make sure you name it something recognizable. Swap your HVAC module, and get back into forscan, DO NOT load previous profile, allow forscan to find all module. Then open the HVAC module and click “load all” and it will write in all of your factory as builts, then finally, click “write all” and it will load up all your factory as builts into the new module

Landed on loading previous as built file to previous profile! So am I creating a new profile, this scares me lol

The good thing about FORScan is that MOST changes that we talk about on the forum are easily reversible if you get it wrong. It’s NOT 100% safe, but it is mostly as long as you’re detailed oriented and cautious with your changes

You can certainly get yourself into trouble if you start screwing around with modules not listed on livnitup’s forscan spreadsheet though

I saw on a YouTube video that you need to disconnect the battery before unplugging the HVAC ot you might have issues. Is this true? I feel like it wouldn't matter since I need to run the as built on the new one anyway.

Gotta agree with @JHForman812. Me and one of my buddies inadvertently unplugged by BCM connectors without disconnecting the battery and nothing happened. May have been dumb luck, may not have mattered. BUT I would say it's always a good practice to disconnect the battery when messing with stuff like that

Purchased about ten days ago from Tasca for my heated steering wheel
Project when my 22 finally arrives. Was ordering for the heated wheel and was shocked to get it with the led readouts.

Did you guys figure out if you had to return your core for Tasca? The web page and receipt say nothing about it. Just a random sticker on the box it came in.

This. Numbers in dials is gimmicky and not useful.

It’s actually very useful. That’s where I always look when I set the temperature, never on the screen. I have it on my 21 xlt, I feel sorry for lariats and above trims that they don’t have it.
