Have any of you tried monitoring air conditions independent of the trucks electronics?

I keep a bluetooth temp and humidity sensor in my truck cab to measure conditions for the dog when camping (the dog sleeps in the truck, I sleep in a RTT), but I have occasionally used it to check for my own comfort as well. I find my auto setting works reasonably well, but it does sometimes stray from its intended settings. Sometimes the air temp is where it should be, and it is just my perception of temp that is wrong.

Same experience here. I’ve owned my truck less than a month and have adjusted the auto temp more than the past 12 years of owning gm products combined :). Not impressed. Only complaint so far really.

Yes. It sucks. I remember last winter having frozen feet because the auto didn't think to move warm air down there. I had to manually select the mode to direct air where I wanted it to go. A/C seemed to do a better job but I was not too happy with the heat auto distribution.

I am having this problem too. I just purchased 2022 XLT. Its my first ford truck! Coming from Toyota family!

Climate control temps don't make any sense to me. Here in Maryland I have to set the temp to 63 while outside is 31. If I set to 72 or even 68, its very hot and uncomfortable. None of my other vehicles do this. I always set my temps to 70-72 in my other cars. Something is not working right. There has to be a fix! I do HVAC for living. Seems like they need to update their temp sensors, adjust TXV valve, and software calibration maybe? This is not normal!

I'm also unimpressed with the auto climate on my '23 PB at least in the winter time. Although with the powerboost I always set the blower on 5+ for the 12V battery trick so the wonky auto climate doesn't really matter. If Ford ever updates the charging system to fool proof then I'll start worrying about the auto climate when I can use it with confidence...

I’ve had this problem since I bought my truck in February. Taken it to the dealer a couple times now. First time they replaced sensor above mirror. This time they found loose pins in a wire harness and replaced that harness. Took it for a road test and said it was good. Only problem is it seems to work fine when outside ambient temp is around 10 Celsius and with it warming up currently there will be no way to test it until it gets cold again. Has anyone had success having this fixed? It’s not even an Auto problem, I can’t get cold air unless I select LO, even manually controlling the system I get hot air on every setting but LO.

Hey there! I can look into your F-150’s climate control concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?
Hello,

I tried sending you a private message but it got an error that I wasn’t able to send to you.

I have the same issue as described here. I have to constantly change the temperature and fan speed manually because the climate control does not work well, nothing like how my previous Lariat worked.

I hope you can provide guidance because my dealership has not been helpful thus far.

Thanks,
Chris

Sadly, they stopped monitoring this forum a while back. I would suggest removing your VIN from the post however.

I know of a few folks who had their issues resolved. However, the primary function seemed to be to notify a dealership of the issue in question. Basically, it was highly dependent on the dealership that was notified.

Interesting, we saw the old, old support do things, but they went away. Then the last support that also (recently) went away, took info but we never had members return and say they actually helped.
