I have owned 23 Ford's since 1997. Many of them have been my F150s with the V8. Yes, I love the sound. However, no matter how I tried (driving like a grampa—which I am), I could only get 18.5 mpg in town.

I am on my second PB. I love getting 25 - 28 mpg in town without really trying much. I don't take the highway to cross-town cause I would rather get 28 mpg vs. 23 on the highway. I went from Miami to Key West and got 30.1 mpg in all the traffic. I also love the 7.2 Kw Onboard Power and have found multiple uses for it.

This just means that the F150 KR FX4 PB fits me! It's what I wanted but that's why Ford makes so many different models and features so we can all buy the one for us.

At the time I built my special order 2022 157" truck, the documentation showed 21 lbs more.
Regardless of whether 19 or 21 pounds, a 157" truck isn't much heavier for the extra foot itself.
Yeah, I'm thinking the discrepancy might be in base fuel tanks v standard options on 157 at the time the sheet was made. PB has but 1 regardless. Only difference is 2 total feet of frame and some aluminum on the bed. However curb weight is listed as a full fuel tank so at 6.5lbs/g so if they used the 24g tank vs 34g tank, that's automatically 65lbs of curb weight.

I thought the PB had a 30 gallon tank. My DTE calculation would be almost 30mpg if my tank is only 24.

So what was this Ben Hardy asshole & why does he matter?
He is an auto reviewer, with 431K subscribers and that particular vid. has had more than 10K views.

Cue the old Lorial commercial. "And they'll tell two friends and they'll tell two friends ..."

Grains of salt and all that but people with reach, can and do, influence people. Even when what they say is b.s.

Can’t forget the .6! And the long bed isn’t about weight, it’s about parking ?

Exactly.

As it is, I can walk around either end of the truck while in the garage and even open the tailgate. With the longer bed, one or the other wouldn't be possible.

Everyday livability matters and people have different wants / needs.

Auto reviewers that can only spew what the manufacturers post in their release are worthless anyway. Ben Hardy never gets to the crux of the matter like the Car Care Nut or some of the other in-depth channels that are out there.

That's the point. PB only has one tank regardless of size. If 2 different configs run different tanks, the curb weight will be different. One thing I didn't double check was frame wall thickness. PB already come with the HD HEV frames which are already the beefiest. By my measurements, the strongest and most reinforced.

Didn’t we find the Rapid Red 2022 model to be the absolute strongest?
No, I believe we settled on them just having the biggest ego. You might have missed that post :ROFLMAO:

I'm really late to the conversation, but my Feb build 2021 XLT is about to roll over 70k miles. Still love this truck.

My experience has been that the haters come out of the woodwork on forums and on Facebook. As is tradition. V8 guys especially seem to have a real problem with it...which I find silly because I love the V8 too. Variety is the spice of life.

Then they see one in person. You put them in the front seat, put it in Sports mode, give them a little bit of good old fashioned whiplash and suddenly they get it.

Others I've encountered, both the skeptical and the curious, see me running generator mode in a public camp site. After I tell them about the setup, they see how quiet the power is and how it would last a week without refueling, I then see them look at their wife with the "Brace yourself because I want to buy this" look.

That all said, I'm happy if the undeserved rep these trucks have puts a bit of pressure to keep prices down. If I ever need to trade mine in, I want the best deal possible. That said, my Job 1 XLT 302A was probably 10k less than another Powerboost I see today, yet has more features. It's gonna be really hard to let this one go.
