I’ve had problems with both my PBs so I get it. I think many of us overlook issues because we like the trucks. It’s not normal to replace batteries in 2 year old trucks and constantly need some sort of update. I’d still buy a 3rd one next (when they ditch the tron taillights)

I ditched my hybrid maverick for a regular f150. Too many recalls, safety bulletins, technical bulletins. Just too much headache.

But what issues did you actually experience, other than recalls and bulletins?
Did the truck ride & drive as you would expect it to?

I ask because I have watched the Maverick from a distance and it's appeared to win over the vast majority of the buyers. And the used market certainly reflects the percentage of trucks still owned by the original owners.

I'm actually in the process of chasing down a 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD 4k towing build. There's ZERO available in a 500 mile radius in Space White, which is what my daughter chose because of my Mach-E being in that color.

my wife's just entered production, Lariat with the moonroof to go along with the 4k towing and hybrid, but it's blue.

I wouldn't let you take it, anyway!
?

Three months and three days from order to "in production" status.

So a recall and bulletin isn't considered an issue for you? Give your head a shake. You can't take away from an ownership experience "other than recalls and bulletins". I would say, 13 trips to the dealer over 22 months is a huge issue for just "recalls and bulletins" alone. And no, it did not drive as I expected it to. It left me stranded on 3 occasions - twice in the middle of an intersection turning left, with zero movement from the ICE or hybrid system. One it left me with just the hybrid system, which is absolutely nothing for acceleration/ getting out of peoples way when turning. It left me without brakes entirely, causing me to almost hit my neighbours house rolling out of the driveway - I had to slam the parking brake on. The 12V battery has been replaced twice, the harness has been replaced, and so much more I am forgetting. The worst part of all this? The vehicle only had 25,000KM when I sold. (15,000 freedom units). When towing just 1300lbs, it had engine codes pop up and weird surging issues. They never fixed the grabby brake issue, the surging at red lights issue, and so much more. I loved the fuel economy, I loved the regen and what not - I wanted to love it, but for long trips and the confidence to actually make it to the destination started to fade.

And to top it all off, Since selling, the new owner has texted me about a few issues- The driver headlamp has taken on water, causing other electrical issues and some other things I forget.

Now, with F150 ownership hitting 7 months - I've been to the dealer exactly zero times. I would have been there 3 times already, with my vehicle gone for two days (one time being 10 days, due to hybrid parts shortage), with no loaner, and being shuttled around and paying for uber. Annoying AF.

2023 power boost lariat 502. I love the truck, never been in the shop, never had a problem. Faster than my 2018 raptor and great gas mileage. Would buy another one in a heartbeat.

So a recall and bulletin isn't considered an issue for you?
Not necessarily.
My Powerboost is 3 years old and it's had its fair share of recalls, TSB, CSP,......

But I have only been to the dealership once to have one of them addressed because the potential issue actually happened. (I sheared one MaxTow axle bolt)

The rest of the list were either things I could address myself or ignore.

Example: More than a few were just having the dealership inspect something, or something that required a software update to fix. No way am I going to bother for either. My rear e-brake harness was NOT chafing against the axle tube, but if it was, or if it were possible too, I would do the same exact remedy the dealership would in the same 5 minutes they would have.

So my experience might be far less frustrating than someone else's. There's an owner here that wouldn't drive his truck if there was rain in the forcast because of a windshield wiper motor recall. So for that owner, in their own words, it was incredibly irritating to wait the months it took for Ford to get replacement wiper motors.

Since I figured I'd deal with a malfunctioning wiper IF/WHEN it failed, I never experienced the frustration.

It sounds like you had several issues with your Maverick that were unrelated with the recalls, TSBs, and other bulletins. Those issues would sully the experience for anyone. I get that.

I had everything I needed done in an overnight stay at the dealer (intentionally let it all stack up). Had to come back for a chmsl cam though. That was pretty quick to swap out though.

Was it a PB related issue, or generic F150 issue?

Is this a decent price?

Edit: no tow package that I can find. Never mind. The tow is a must for it to really be a great little truck.

Maverick ain't F150, so MSRP isn't a joke on the Maverick like it is on an F150. ?

Ford rarely or ever provides incentives, and most dealerships will present the selling price as MSRP or close.

But we all know the automotive inventory is bloated, and for the first time that I am aware, the lots have a bunch of unsold Mavericks too. 2024s, of course. So that doesn't help if you want a Hybrid AWD.

I can probably get a discount of some kind from my guy because of a long 20+ year purchasing history. But I have no intention of pushing much. It'd be different if I was grabbing a stale product though.

My wife is having second thoughts about our trailer towing plans after the Houston trip. We are including the Winnebago View 24R as an alternative to the Intech Aucta Willow. That means I might consider exchanging my beloved PB for a 2025 Maverick hybrid and the Winnie which is a Sprinter 3500 dually. We’d flat tow the Jeep. We are going to travel someday and she is coming and so are the dogs! I don’t care what it takes

Sounds like it just depends on what you like and want. I have a 5.0 because I wanted it . I've had a lot of the v8's over the years but that's what I prefer. I can't knock the PB's because I haven't owned one but I do see a lot of them on the road in my travels.

Yeah. They look pretty normal out there, but unless you’re also surrounded by a RaptorR or a TRX, that mild mannered PB is the most powerful half ton on the road. EVs excluded which the Orlando to Gainesville stretch takes care of lol.

I’m sober really lol. Thought of dropping $200k for something with wheels has me tipsy

There's nothing wrong with having more truck than necessary for towing an RV. My 17' Toy hauler fully loaded to the gills with toys, is less than #4500. Often less than #4000

Ford F-150 I really don't get the PB hate. 20250217_095108

It's a joy to not have the tail wagging the dog.

Although I am getting a Maverick with the 4k towing option, it's NOT to Tow that little Toy Hauler. However I would absolutely use it to tow my teardrop.

Regardless, for long road trips across this great land of ours? I ain't sitting in the little compact truck if I have that glorious Land Yacht Powerboost available. Not a valid comparison. ?
