I tried that, but couldnt find anything that had enough draw that I wanted to keep plugged in to the trailer connector all the time. If you could find something to accomplish this, you dont need to be in Tow/Haul mode for the side cameras to work.
I believe @antho found some kind of light he plugged in there to get it to work. Maybe he came chime in and provide some insight.

This should be a default setting when using the right turn arrow, for any and all modes. User could control it via the dash screen.

So if I am understanding this....

Need to have something plugged into one of the trailer connectors AND do the ForeScan tweaks? Meaning, it's not even a default setting when just having a connector plugged in?

I have a 2023 F150 Tremor with the Tow Package.

Thanks

You are correct, but not one of the trailer connectors, but the trailer light 7 pin connector.

Although, TBH, I have not tried plugging in just the trailer aux cam to see if the side view cameras then work, but I know the trailer aux cam will work without having a trailer connected.

Now after a marathon weekend of updating a pretty much stock '21 PB and returning the cable, I get to see if OTA actually works :)
So far the answer is nope... nothing doing after 2 weeks ?. Guess I should check the battery voltage level to make sure it's not below the threshold. Any other things I should look into?

Unless you explicitly get a message in truck or via FordPass saying an update failed then you most likely have not been deemed worthy by the OTA gods yet. Keep waiting and it will come. Nothing so far this year is important in terms of features so nothing to miss while waiting it out.

If it can be done, no one has figured it out yet. The only way is by plugging something in to the trailer tow connecter that creates a voltage draw to trick the truck into thinking a trailer is connected. Your truck being a 2023 can activate this feature easily with just two FORScan changes.
What modules in the 2023 are responsible for allowing the change. What's different from 2022?

IPMA is running newer software on some 2023 trucks.

Keep in mind it's a Super Duty feature and we aren't supposed to have it at all. Just happens when software aligns with right version also used on Super Duty trucks.

I have a 2023 ipma with 2023 software. Does that count? I'm always pulling a trailer.

Should, from my understanding, be able to get 50/50 split rear view at speed anytime, and turn signal cameras when trailer is attached.

I made the Forscan changes but my 2021 can't support the features yet so doesn't work. I can't tell you what the changes are, it's buried in the Forscan thread and I had to verify those lines in the big Excel sheet because my configuration is a bit different.

You'll need to update IPMA and APIM in Forscan. I expect this to be added to the "common" mods sheet if Ford decides to update the 2021 trucks to support it.

Forscan changes are:
706-01-02: 3xxx-xxx-xx
7D0-02-03: xxx-x8xx-xx (or C)

This will enable a toggle switch in your menus to turn on side view cameras. When that toggle switch is enabled then you will see the camera for whichever side turn signal you have triggered in the center screen (when a trailer is attached).

Yeah, figured that from what I've read. I really just want to know that OTA actually works on this new-to-me '21 more than anything... although all the vehicle ECUs / electronics are one of the primary reasons I absolutely bought the extended warranty so I guess not something I should be worried about.

Yep got extended warranty for same reason. That was why I bought extended warranty on my 2011 too but electronics were perfect 12 years it was used for all the mechanical stuff.
