30 year fed. Procurement analyst. This particular administration has burned me out with their nonsense initiatives (so-called climate crisis, DEIA, gender bending, etc, etc). Three years until retirement (praise be to Jesus). Can't get here soon enough.
thank you for your service, I was thinking about getting back into a civil service position. I was offer but the thought of government service again is mindnumbing.

I love this thread and seeing everybody’s careers, it really makes sense why this forum is such a valuable think tank of knowledge and experience.

Currently a VP of Product for an online wholesale and retail company supporting the camper van conversion industry. We don’t have any products of our own (yet). I carefully review and scrutinize the product lines we sell in order to provide our customers with the knowledge and support to make the best product decisions for their customers. This includes designing test protocols for third party independent labs to perform. One test I think that has really helped people make educated decisions is the 12V DC powered rooftop air conditioning tests. I also handle all of the tech support for the retail side.

Previously, I was a product manager at Dometic and responsible for bringing to life the center console refrigerator available for the gen 13 and gen 14 F-150s. DC powered rooftop A/Cs and refrigerators for Class 7 & 8 trucks were also part of my portfolio.

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, I was a product manager and design engineer at Thule making roof racks for vehicles in North and South America. The coolest vehicle I’ve ever racked was easily the Lamborghini Huracan, which appeared on the cover of the October 2015 edition of MotorTrend Magazine for their 30 days of Huracan.

To all who currently serve and veterans, thank you for your service. I was set on joining the Marine Corps out of high school. My father, a Marine and Vietnam Veteran, (in his words) didn’t go to war in a foreign country for me to follow the same path. He agreed that if I didn’t have a job coming out of engineering school and still wanted to join, he’d support it. Your sacrifice and service are the reason we get to pursue dream-like careers.

Hey, Chris, I wasn't aware of your move from Dometic, I hope you're enjoying your current endeavors!

I'm still enjoying and grateful for the Gen 14 F150 Dometic Console Refrigerator Pre-Production Teaser | F150gen14 -- 2021+ Ford F-150, Tremor, Raptor Forum (14th Gen) | News, Owners, Community, Discussions that you connected me with. (y) :)

I've done some axle testing in the past, though I didn't get paid to do it. I tested the holy hell out of an old mopar 8 3/4 axle in a duster with a 440 and a ton of nitrous. Chipped a few ring gear teeth, but nothing broke.

9 years in the NAVY, then got out and went to work for them as a Civil Servant/Ops Conductor at a missile range in Kauai for 21 years and then left the gov and then for the last 22 years, I went to industry (large lab that supports DoD) as a test planner and so I could move back to the mainland. Hawaii was cool, but 25 years was long enough. Testing missiles has been an awesome career and is never dull!

I grew up the son of a Vietnam Vet who worked as a Mechanical Engineer following his discharge. I remember hearing the welcome home story he told after setting foot back on US soil after 2.5 tours to have an FBI agent try to arrest him getting off the plane for check fraud after someone was running around the country writing bad checks in his name. For a decade following, he would hear people at work whisper baby killer behind his back and other nasty things. He asked me not to join saying he felt like he did enough for the both of us. I didn't sign up and still question that to this day. I became an Occupational Therapist/Administrator and unfortunately was injured almost 6 years ago with a nerve injury that turned into Reflexive Sympathetic Dystrophy. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. When I feel good enough, messing with cars and hobbies is a good distraction. Would love to find a good job fit with my condition. Lord willing, one day at a time.
