Wait, are you telling us that ford actually thought about the powerboost shutting off? You really don't have to outsmart the pcm strategy? I dunno, trusting them to have considered that sounds, kinda, I dunno, ignorant.
Hi all,
I just drove my truck and got a message on the center screen about a pcm update relating to on board diagnostics downloading. Says it improves on board diagnostics to help my engine perform to specifications, whatever that means. Anybody know what this one is about?
This right here, especially the middle paragraph. I found out while doing research for a project I did at work that cranking amps and overall energy storage capacity are somewhat at odds with each other in lead acid batteries. Batteries with many thin plates tend to be able to produce large...
Try taking it to another dealer. There are plenty of accounts on here of people getting their trucks worked on for rough shifting, meaning the dealer considered it an issue.
There may soon be a really nice, well appointed 2025 ram with only 1100 miles for sale in or near Humboldt, IA. Just gotta get the lemon law case I have on it finished and ram will have to buy it back. It's a black laramie and it's NICE. They might even be able to fix it by now, I haven't had...
That is very true. However, ford can't count on a dealership NOT giving a rental. When this happens, it increases the cost to ford for a defect pretty substantially. That's what I was getting at earlier.
I think my '24 did the same thing once when it had less than 2000 miles on it. Misfire at idle, but no cel. Found a pending code that mentioned number 1 cylinder deactivation solenoid. Never has done it again.
Buddy of mine at work has an '04 tahoe. That 5.3 that makes no sense has 430,000 miles on it. He's had it since it had about 150k on it. There's no sign a valve cover has ever been off it. He keeps religious maintenance records on it, down to when transfer case and axle oils have replaced...
I know this is an older thread, but this has happened a couple of times with my truck. It was always when I was starting it. It would not engage the starter, and the message popped up. Turning the key off and then trying to start it again gives no trouble, it starts right up without any weird...
I have a '24 rcsb and it came with a 7 pin. I paid a shop to add an aftermarket trailer brake controller, it took them about 45 minutes and the total bill was just about exactly $200.
