Whoever told you that, is an idiot. The TC sits in front of the trans in the bell housing-DUH. Unless that is what this mo-mo considers "internal" to the trans. You can get a new trans and converter that has been upgraded for 11G's, like a Suncoast upgraded 10R80 with a billet converter versus...
Or just get an aftermarket one and add 1.75 quarts capacity of red juice. I service mine every 30K. Shifts and runs like butter. 1st time at 4K after break in when I added the pan and then again at 30K miles.
It has to be something in the tune(TCM) and not just the valve bodies. My 24 with a Whipple has been sweet for the whole 24K miles and the 1 year and 3 months I have had the truck. Whipple install includes an updated trans tune. No weird shifting habits or shuttering etc. I would think a new...
Service it. If you just flush it, there is still all of the crap in the filter. It is not that bad, I did mine and it was not too hard. It makes it easier if you get a floor jack and put it under the rear of the trans and then remove the cross brace that holds the back of the trans. Then it...
Bought the 24 XL in JUN of 24. Whipple added in Sep at 4K miles along with a trans service and deep sump PPE pan. Just about to hit 20K miles in 2 days or so, no issues and runs awesome. Did a drag and drive 1 week with it as well in Feb of this year.
Your installer is an idiot. That is NOT normal for a Whipple or ANY 5.0 to sound like that. Take it back and make them make it right and then NEVER use them again.
19500 Miles on my 2024 Truck
5.0 Liter Engine-Supercharged w/Whipple Stage 1 tune w/speed limiter @135
Transmission Fluid changed?
Yes @ 4000 miles/added a deep sump PPE trans pan
Issues Encountered: None. Drove my truck for 4000 miles to break it in and then had the blower installed by a...
I did mine back last Nov? One nice thing with the Wilwod's, you have a high and a a low bleeder valve. I was able to gravity bled my system, did the bottom bleeder first then did the top bleeder. Too easy. I have a mitivac but didn't need it as once I cracked the lower bleeder, fluid ran solid...
run the vin and see if it is one of the 21's that had the CDF recall. if it is AND hasn't had it done, I would find another. over 100K miles in 3-4 years, that vehicle has seen some use!
Have any of you ever pulled the pan off and looked in your 10R80? Do you know how much plastic parts are used in it including the pump? I too have watched this video and 2 others they have done. I will not go out and change my Valve body UNLESS it fails, and then I would definitely go with his...
That's the thing, what are you using the truck for? If you start putting big tires and rims on them, yeah, you will notice but one could argue that would be true for any motor/gear ratio that is typically standard on trucks. with the 3.31 there is no lack of torque down low and if you do add a...
If you are looking for better flow, lower cat temps and way better sound, YES. Not everyone wants to run Long Tubes but wants better flow and this is an option. Do you really need it? No, but if you ever need to replace your stock cats, I would definitely go this route over OEM. Well made, sound...
The FORD tune is going to be conservative, that is why the warranty is intact. And in today's world, I don't think FORD's, or any other OEM engineering prowess is better than after market. Personally, I would not pay 500 for a canned tune from FORD. What is your tuning goal? I would go to a REAL...
Again, you say "the truck won't start"
What do you mean?
1. When you turn the key (or push the button)the truck will not do anything, i.e. the starter doesn't work and the motor doesn't turn over --or--
2. The starter works but the engine will not start?
Saying the truck doesn't start does...
