Temperature readout showing in HVAC control knobs for 2023 F-150?

In the rare event someone is like me and paranoid about running Forscan on their truck, a dealer told me yesterday they can't program it. They said unless it's designated as compatible with the VIN, Ford no longer lets them program equipment. They can see the options, but they can't select them. I figure I could buy FDRS for a day, but I don't know if I'll run into the same issue, and I worry about future issues if the dealer can't service it down the line. Maybe too much worrying going on here.

I felt the same way. It was easy, watch a couple good videos and there is a spreadsheet with the info you need available.
It’s doable.

What is the hvac digital dial part number for 2022 with heated seats and wheel? Cc403 is without.
Tons of them on ebay and ford's site is vague about options.
I need the steering, heated, cooled buttons.

Unfortunately that is not going to bee cheap.

Its towards the beginning of this thread, like pg 2 or 3. And now that it seems to be in stock again its only like $130

No, it will not affect other modules. open the HVAC module and click “save all” and make sure you name it something recognizable. Swap your HVAC module, and get back into forscan, DO NOT load previous profile, allow forscan to find all module. Then open the HVAC module and click “load all” and it will write in all of your factory as builts, then finally, click “write all” and it will load up all your factory as builts into the new module

I swapped module in my 23 stx w 21 digital temp module without saving factory asbuilt , can I re install factory module and save asbuilt ? Then install factory asbuilt to new module . Everything currently works and temp numbers appear . Saw some codes for hvac guess I can just erase them ? Thanks

Yes, you can put the old module in at anytime. It’s programmed. Pull the asbuilt from the module or grab the info from the motorcraft site. You can then program the new module with you coding.
There will be a DTC code that you can erase but it will come back, since the module is not in Ford’s inventory for the truck, this also prevents a PMI in FDRS. Just ignore the code, everything will work.

Purchased about ten days ago from Tasca for my heated steering wheel
Project when my 22 finally arrives. Was ordering for the heated wheel and was shocked to get it with the led readouts.

I came to this thread looking for this exact post because I bought one for the same price at this time. I was going to share it with another member who may buy one from another member, and I was thinking, you are overpaying.

Well they aren't. This thing has tripled in price.

I'm so happy I got one when I did.

Came in today, said it was new but there’s dust all over it, unless it was sitting in a warehouse unprotected. Didn’t come in a bag but was also 120 bucks so I probably can’t complain. Will swap it out when I get the rest of the interior lights in.

I bought this same unit from the same seller on ebay. I was able to install it without any issues and it works great. I will say that prying the plastic trim pieces off of my 1 month old truck was terrifying, especially when it's 25F outside and those trim pieces don't come off easy at all.

It seems like a small change, but it really does improve the look and function of the HVAC controls. It's kind of frustrating that Ford continues to leave this out of new builds, It can't cost them that much more. I feel much the same way about the rear fender liners (which I installed as well). Come on Ford, don't nickel and dime me on a $70k+ vehicle.
