Yep, been saying for two years the console shifter is gimmicky. I feel I'm going to break it every time I have to touch it. A rotary gear selector in place of the backup thing would have been my preference.

Yeah, I'd rather have a colunm shifter than a console that's a POS.
Personally i'm not a fan of dial shifters AT ALL. The days of a mechanical connection to nearly everything is upon us also.

A proper mechanical column shifter is amazing. A half assed electrical column shifter is a sad thing. The new Charger Pursuits have a cheap column shifter that makes our console shifters look durable and mechanical in comparison.

I too like the console shifter, but w/o the work surface, the folding shifter has no value. I would prefer one w/o the folding function since I don't have the work surface.

OP, glad you got it figured out. I think I lucked out and got a good set of batteries as I haven't had any issues with mine. But the first electrical gremlin that pops up and replacing the batteries will be the first thing I do.

I just realized if I press the stop button with it in Drive the shifter moves to Park by itself lol.

Any solution now? My 24 shifter also won't rise. Press the button and nothing happened. Brand new 2 weeks old.
