Mine was doing that way before the newest update. I noticed it more when I updated to IOS 18
I had just gotten a new phone running iOS 18 that I connected to the truck a few days before I updated the APIM. I kinda figured it was an Apple issue.

Still a no go. I tried something like that yesterday, and just tried again following your steps exactly. It gets me one step further, but stops me since the billing address doesn't match my card address. I get this error...
Card declined: The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address provided does not match billing address of cardholder.

Not sure what else to try now. Maybe a prepaid visa gift card that I could assign a US address to?
I last licences up in August; I never saw that error, so maybe their payment gateway couldn't find an address for my card and assumed I was good ?‍♂. I'm sorry I can't help further, but to try and see if I can still get a licence, I'd be spending 80 of our bucks ?

EDIT: It,just occurred to me that it might have been a delivery/postal/shipping address that my procedure got me through, I had no problem using my Visa card. Canada is obviously an "allowed" country for licensing, unlike here. Sorry for the false hope and hoping you get it sorted some way ?

sorry..don't know what to tell you. Try your parents card, if they would let you. See if that would work. Just use your phone number and email.
Can I buy an fdrs license and send him the activation key?

When establishing a FDRS account for the first time, is it suggested to use your FordPass or Ford account credentials, or is it advisable to "start fresh", and use something completely different?

I keep getting this layout issue on CarPlay after updating the APIM. Any ideas?
This looks like a bad or partial install. You updated it yourself with FDRS?

I keep getting this layout issue on CarPlay after updating the APIM. Any ideas?

People were reporting that previously. What you see on screen is coming from your phone and Apple screwed up. Truck has nothing to do with it. Try updating your phone.

People were reporting that previously. What you see on screen is coming from your phone and Apple screwed up. Truck has nothing to do with it. Try updating your phone.
The next iOS update releases on Monday 10/28 I heard so hopefully that takes care of it.

Jeff, I'm in Australia and had the same issue. The address for the licence must resolve to a physical address in the USA. It must also match the country you're connected to. I do the following:
1. Use VPN software e.g. expressVPN (no affiliation) to connect to a vpn server (I connect to New York). That satisfies Helm Inc. that you are within the states.
2. I use the billing address of "1 American Road Dearborn MI" as the address. This resolves to a physical address (I think we all know which that is ?).
That should get your licence purchased. Once that's squared away, again use the VPN to create your account on Ford.com, and use that same account to sign into FDRS.

See if that's a go for you ?
I am in the UAE and use the same steps to get around FDRS and has worked every time. Only hiccup which I come across and it is a UAE thing, my VPN if throttled by the ISP will result in the VPN dropping off for sometime and Ford will suspend the account. Got to make a new one every-time or invest in a VPN that offers a kill switch option.

I faced this a few times with iOS 17 and iOS 18.0.1 - I upgraded to the iOS 18.1 RC (public release is on Monday) and can definitely see the improvement. This bug hasn’t come up since the update. Also, I used to have some black screens with Google Maps - even that was fixed.

@Paul Neubauer Based on the posts above, don't bother messaging Jesse. I have seen something like this in the past, but it on the Sync screens and not exclusive to Apple CarPlay. #teamandroid

I can not answer that question. Maybe someone else that has done it can.
I had the same problem he is having, it turned out to be a postal code issue. My area was too new and the postal code wasn’t recognized. I had to find one that was close in an established area and that did the trick. I also had to put “General Delivery” on the 2nd address line. That was Rotundra’s recommendation.
