Pretty much. However, while the features for BC 1.4 are not in the PSCM/IPMA updates in FDRS now, the BC stability improvements seem to be in there. Many have reported BC 1.0 working much better after doing these updates.
So like adaptive cruise is better at lane keeping but none of the fancy 1.4 features like lane changes? I'm good with that since I don't have BC.

Not just that, but BC 1.0 tends to disengage a lot for no good reason. The release notes of 7.0.0 state that every version of BC is more stable than the previous by a certain amount with BC 1.4 being the most stable. So you get the stability of BC 1.4, but not the features.

Edit: Also better at keeping you in the middle of the lane instead of hugging one side or the other or bouncing between the two lane markers.

Why are the forscan changes such a secret? With no side loading it’s no different than any other changes being made. Someone should step up and post them already.

Ford has lots of lawyers and reasons to protect their property. It will eventually be ready to go after a few more updates and probably more bug fixes. Apparently the new IPMA update is breaking glare free in some trucks according to another thread.

Agreed, BC 1.0 software was pretty rough. The IPMA update last year, fall 2022 now I guess (maybe BC 1.1?) was big improvement. BC 1.2 has been great for me and even better. Running 1.4 software now and haven't put a lot of time on it but seems just as good if not better so far, but I don't get all the fun new features either.

All my experience is with Lane Centering not BC, but it's all the same software and logic when it comes to keeping the truck between the mustard and mayo.

I wont share because IF FORD wanted them out they would have made the changes. Im not going to give some goofball the changes for lane change and then they crash and everyone points to me.

I have instructed anyone that I did share them with if they share them with anyone I dont know Ill cut them off completely.

Man you have 5 posts and are on here making demands. ?

THat wont get you very far here.

Used it on the way to the office this morning. With 1.0 I couldn’t use it. Would accelerate and stop abruptly, disengage for no reason, try and sideswipe lanes next to me and was an overall awful experience for a daily commute. Even without the new features enabled it didn’t disengage once, stayed centered in the lane much better and is very smooth now. It feels like a completely new product.

I didn’t make a “demand” but am I excited for this truck to get better, yes.

My post count reflects a busy life and a lack of time to dedicate to this forum.

I do understand your point. I wasn’t thinking about any safety aspect and that’s a good point.

You have helped me in the past and I appreciate it.

I’m hardly a ford lawyer, that’s an absurd statement.

I may have helped you. I don’t mind helping at all. I’ll help anyone. Despite post count.

But understand in a litigious world we live in it’s very hard to do nice things

@RickBullotta someone reported getting the BCM OTA on their 302a without an issue. I woulnt personally mess with it on FDRS since from what I can tell its just unoticeable bug fixes/tweaks and doesnt add anything new.

I suspect it will start showing on more and more trucks here in the next week.
