Quick update. I think it was user error on my part. I had installed 38.5.7 and during that process didn’t enter the Motorcraft user ID. So I think it was trying to login and had null credentials. I reinstalled 38.5.7 and was reprompted to enter the id when it first launched, and I was then able to connect without issue. Thanks rugedraw! Any suggestions as to how far back I should go in the revisions?
You’re presuming there’s a problem for Ford to fix. I suspect there is, but Ford has said only that the BCM update is blowing out headlamps for 2022s. Nobody knows for sure whether it’s also blowing out the quads on 2021s because nobody’s said they’ve tried it. Nobody wants to be first. Is there any way to see the actual file date/times for updates from FDRS (firmware/software, strategy, etc). I'd like to know if the dreaded BCM update has been fixed yet, but there's really no way to know unless the file date/time changes.
I have had updates for other modules fail to clear immediately, but not these. Have you checked your as-built to confirm that everything went through? Is anyone else not having the updates clear from FDRS after applying. Did the IPMA and PSCM both appeared successful but won't clear from the software tab
Not even sure where to look for that to be honestI have had updates for other modules fail to clear immediately, but not these. Have you checked your as-built to confirm that everything went through?
If you’re not in a hurry, wait a few weeks. If everything went through ok, it should clear on its own. If you want me to look, PM me your VIN and I can look for you. We have different models, but I can compare what you have to what I have and see if there are differences. Not even sure where to look for that to be honest
yup. But my concern is starting an update for another module that then triggers the bcm module update. So I’m staying away from all of the latest 4 (BCM, IPMA, PSCM, and IPC)If it ain't broke, don't apply the Ford fix unless you have to do it. I don't think BCM is OTA just on FDRS. If it's not blocking anything new leave it alone is my thought and I have 502a that should be safe.
So I ran a network test and the ipma cleared but not pscmIf you’re not in a hurry, wait a few weeks. If everything went through ok, it should clear on its own. You’re probably ok then. Sounds like there might just be a lag in updating your as-built. You can periodically try a new network scan. Another thing you can try if you just want to look for yourself is use FORScan to pull up the strategy for the PSCM. Then compare that strategy to the strategy file on your hard drive that FDRS downloaded. If they’re the same, it likely installed fine. You can find the strategy file on your hard drive here: C:/ProgramData/Ford Motor Company/FDRS/fdrs/data/vehicle_software.So I ran a network test and the ipma cleared but not pscm
