Thank you @svtzx2 and @fordtruckman2003

In case it is needed, my VIN is 1FTEW1C52PKD00008

I started this morning with the GWM. I get these messages. Should I try to update it using the CAN method? I'm using the Mongoose interface cable. Or is this a module where I need a USB drive (I have a 64gb exFat drive ready to go) to download files to, then insert that in the truck?

Also, the third photo is what I installed and updated yesterday, out of sequence. Hopefully that didn't mess anything up. It lists the GWM here, but it gave the same error yesterday, so I skipped it at that point, along with the IPC update since it said it would take a long time.

These are the remaining updates after doing a fresh scan

Sounds like it doesn't like your USB.

The USB drive gets inserted into the laptop so it can write files to it -- make sure the drive follows the guidelines.

FDRS writes the files to the blank formatted / properly named drive. After each update you can simply delete the files from the drive following each subsequent USB update.

Does FDRS not give you instructions on what to do? I would imagine you download the update to the USB and then transfer to the truck.

FDRS doesn’t specifically say anything about needing a USB drive. I can’t find anywhere to stage or download the file(s) for the USB drive

FDRS usually gives decent directions on what to do including a prompt to select your usb drive that is plugged into the computer to copy the files onto.

I'm definitely not getting to that point. It seems to be failing at the discovery of the GWM and getting ready to download whatever file(s) are needed.

After you click "Run" for the GWM update, it will prompt you at some point to select the usb drive that you have plugged into your computer and it will copy the required files to it. You need to quick format the usb drive to EX Fat before every new update requiring the USB drive be used.

Started getting up to date on my 21 xl again, ran into a snag with the HVAC module. I swapped in a module with Auto HVAC a while back and just had to make some forscan changes to make it work. But in the process of doing some fdrs updates, an HVAC update seems to have bricked the HVAC module. It will not update, PMI, configure, or even show up in forscan for me to load the previous asbuilt. Any ideas?

I have my USB drive ready to go. 64gb exFat formatted. It seems like FDRS is trying to check something against some kind of FENIX manifest, and it isn't finding what it should be looking for.

I would just skip it for know and see if it works a little later then. The ACM update on your list also uses the USB if i remember right so you can test with that one and see if it also fails.

CAN it in. It will take longer, but it will work.

So I was checking the VIN for another member here, and he is showing a new IPMA/PSCM update. I checked my truck, and I am showing it, too. Looks like it may be the the BAE version for 1.3 that was first released for the Mach E.

So what you saying is I should have waited until next weekend to update my truck.

I am doing the TCU now and got the message/walkthrough to utilize the USB drive

so it seems like something with the GWM download process. I will CAN it after the TCU finishes.
Thank you for the input and guidance, all

Finished the TCU Update, but one of the files keeps failing. I've done the reprovision 2 more times and it still fails. Is there a way to do all of the TCU files again, FDRS keeps trying to update just the single file. Any thoughts on what I can do to try and remediate this?
