ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Thanks to this forum and all you tech savvy people, I updated several modules on my '24 F150 with Mongoose cable and FDRS 2 day. Need some help after TCU update, see below...

I had two recent OTAs, and only had a few in the queue. I had DDM, PDM, TCCM, TRM and APIM after I logged in. The DDM/PDM/TCCM/TRM all went well. The APIM updated Sync from 24058 rev 1197 to 24127 rev 1270. The APIM then triggered a TCU update. That seemed to go fine too, but it now has an ORANGE CMDTC that I tried to clear and retest, but it comes back. Drove it around, nothing seems amiss, but anyone know a cure for this? I think I have my own answer. Seems on right side it references SSM 52730 and googling that I see that it says some 2024 F150s (and others) may through DTC U-211B:51 code after FDRS or OTA update and if nothing else is wrong then ignore it.

I've never seen an HCM update in FDRS or OTA.

My dealer was doing a bunch of updates on my truck a few weeks ago and I know that they did the HCM for sure. No problems with my projector headlights and glare free still working great! I haven't noticed any changes except that I am still getting a code from HCM U0122:00-08 lost communication with vehicle dynamics control module. But, that code was present before update.

I know there were several updates that they did and would install successfully but would not come off list and they did them 3-4 times but they wouldn't go away or show they had been updated. I believe the HCM was one of them as well as ACM.
But, last week I had my updates checked and HCM was not showing an update available

This one isn't listed under the software updates like the usual ones. You need to click on the HCM and then it is there.

I guess I could be wrong then... this is what my HCM is saying it is on for strategy.

I'd say if it ain't broke don't fix it then.
I'm not gonna do anything that isn't in the main list.

Starting my adventure on updates. Seems like I have a decent list to work on.
BTW, learned that the Power Steering Control Module initiates a chain of updates, one of which is the IPMA, so it will take a while hahaha
I was trying to do smaller ones first, leaving the IPMA, PCM, IPC, and GWM updates for last since they seem to take a while.

Always start with the GWM followed by APIM, TCU and IPC before updating other modules. IPMA and PSCM are always linked. Powertrain has a set of modules as well that are linked.

I agree, don't save GWM it could open up more small updates.

IPMA sucks every time. Just get used to waiting on that one and be 100% sure your laptop is not set to sleep.

I started this morning with the GWM. I get these messages. Should I try to update it using the CAN method? I'm using the Mongoose interface cable. Or is this a module where I need a USB drive (I have a 64gb exFat drive ready to go) to download files to, then insert that in the truck?

Also, the third photo is what I installed and updated yesterday, out of sequence. Hopefully that didn't mess anything up. It lists the GWM here, but it gave the same error yesterday, so I skipped it at that point, along with the IPC update since it said it would take a long time.

GWM, APIM, and IPC use the USB to update. There might be others too. I’m thinking your USB stick/drive might be faulty? Do you have another you can use? You can also update over CAN, but this will take much longer.

I feel dumb asking, but do I insert the USB drive in the laptop while downloading the update in FDRS, or do I put it in the truck under the main screen? Do I need to put any specific files on the USB drive, or does FDRS do that?
