So, is that to say at some point during the update process, the choice pops up on the screen where you can choose between USB and CAN?
Yeah, a GWM update could take ~10m or 40m even with smaller file sizes in USB vs can

If a USB update (APIM, GWM, TCU or IPC) fails to install with the USB, then FDRS will give you the option to CAN it in. It will take longer than the USB method, but those always work.

Outstanding! Thank you for taking it down to the remedial level for me - now I have a more complete picture! ;)

First time FDRS user with a job 1 F150. I just spent the past couple of days installing all of the available updates and, to my relief, didn’t have any issues. However, one of the final updates presented was an IPMA update (veeery long) and it gave me an error at the end about being unable to write the configuration. The update completed without any other issues and then the IPMA update disappeared from my Toolbox. I have no DTCs and the only items on my SW Updates tab are BCM (password protected) and an ACM update which installed correctly but remains in the list.

Here is my problem. The main reason I embarked on this journey was to get the update which added the bed camera card at speed….and it worked beautifully until this last IPMA update. Now the side card is gone! Any ideas how I might be able to get it back?

For reference, my Sync 4 version is 24127 Revision 1270.

Wow! Diamond sponsor. Very nice. Thanks so much for helping everyone here on the forum.
Yeah. We figured might as well. This forum is good and they have other forums for brands that fall into our interests.

I havent been on here a lot latley. I have had the moves going and its been chaotic. Its is finally getting settled for me. Plus I know there are a lot of people capable of helping and if they cant they message me directly.

Ill be getting more involved again. It just seems my days arent long enough.

Just responded to your message, but posting here in case anyone else has any ideas:

According to what you have showing in your APIM config here:

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS {filename}

Your bed camera is disabled based on what the FORScan spreadsheet shows here:

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS {filename}

I would start by changing that E to an F to enable IODBC and see if that fixes it. If not, you can always change it back and we can dig a bit deeper.

FYI: A member here just fully updated his truck with the new IPMA software that was just released. The strategy is BBC, so it is NOT the same software released to the Mach E's some months ago; it is newer. Now I'm interested in trying it out.

@Snakebitten I know you'd be interested in this.

So potentially I should update the IPMA software? Would I then need to again make the Forscan changes to get updated BC again?

I'll definitely wait patiently until you are ready to advise. :)

If your data synced up, there will be no news to redo the forscan changes. I'd you do need to do it, it's not a big deal, imo.

Roger that. So would be the same Forscan changes IF they were needed?

I'll hang tight until I hear from the group on what the new IPMA software does.

Yea, that remains the same. I'm going to install it tonight when I get home from work.

What’s BBC mean?

I just checked my 22 and I don' t have a new IMPA software. I did have a TCU update, so I installed that. Ford must be doing a slow rollout.
