ECU module programming guide using FDRS

Same question as above about VCI, because the link it directs me to download that doesn't work!

I'm all licensed to update but it won't let me past the device manager screen, so think maybe need that VCI part?

You can't login or test FDRS without licensing it first.

Yes you have to install the VCI software. You can download it from the same place you first downloaded FDRS.

The first page of this thread needs to be updated. FDRS and VCI software used to be one file. They no longer are. Both need to be downloaded and installed separately.

FDRS sends to this webpage and the link to VCI is broken here.

Why is the VCI software needed? I have used FDRS a couple of times without the VCI software install.

I bet it’s there, you just don’t know it. Go into windows and look at all of your software installs in the settings section where you can uninstall unneeded apps. I bet you find one that says VCI Software.

Well, it was seeing the Mongoose without the VCI software. I was not in truck to test it yet though. I just was trying to get everything ready before going outside.

I'm out here now FDRS doing it's thing.
Seeing a few DTC including my airdam is apparently stuck. Lol
Nothing looks recent and my CEL isn't on.

The air dam will only throw a soft code that won't show up on your dash. I removed mine completely when I installed the Tremor skid plate up front and never got a dash light, but the DTC appears in PTS every time I drive the truck.

Apparently I picked an update that requires updating half dozen modules at once. I like that it tells me this before it begins. Mostly idiot proof.

IPMA update looks like one to take a nap.
The updates before it ran fairly quickly but this looks like it will take hours.
