i just stopped by dealer to pick up some bolts. asked the service manager and he was very familiar with the bcm update and how they need to do it. said it only takes about an hour, "so only a couple hundred bucks". fug that.

sirs, what kind of pushback/resistance should i expect when approaching the dealer to do my BCM update? they gunna say i dont need it, or that it doesnt qualify, or just shut up and take my money and do it?

was able to use the truck as god intended this week. power was out for a few hours, but not in this house. i had the generac installed a long ass time ago and never even tested it (dumb i know), but fired her up during the outage the other day, and everything worked as expected. pretty darn cool.
