Not every update is essential but camera use when driving and two phones would be useful. I don't care about Alexa when I don't use it now. The other random updates I installed I have no clue what they do.

Jumping right into it since I just got the truck home a week ago. ?

You were all right about Sunday downtime. FDRS can't connect to Ford servers. I was trying to hotspot my phone to get the last file for APIM update then drive around to install it. Power outage from storms wasn't gonna stop the updates but Ford did. :(

I believe that is corrected with restarting modules but I can't recall which one this is still new to me. Forscan can do it and it's probably in FDRS too.

So far I haven't experienced loss of anything with manual updates, but I'm on day two of updates with many left to go.

Thinking I might need a new battery because the warnings in FDRS keep telling me it's only 75% charged. Battery charger says it charged. Reset of the learned battery life didn't help. ?‍♂

Do you mean FDRS says your battery SOC is 75%?

SOC is very different than what you and I might think. It's an algorithm that Ford's battery management system uses.

Yes, that.
The battery being fully charged means that number should be 100%? At least in my mind, Ford might use different math. :)

Ford F-150 ECU module programming guide using FDRS 1683504601752

Screw you Ford, I fixed it myself.

I believe I have everything now except the newest IPC update in May.
Now just wait and see if I get any updates in future.

Note for those having recent issues I have not yet encountered any problems with GPS or Sirius.
Both appear to be 100% working, listening to Sirius now as I get ready to unplug everything.

My update timeline....
When USB updates actually work it was a smooth process.
Two updates give me USB Error 0 so was forced to CAN bus IPC and one GWM update.

Saturday...
22177 sync version at start 10:30AM
DDM Drivers door
PDM Passenger door
PCM Powertrain
ABS
GSM Gear shift
SCCM Steering column
BCM body control
CCM cruise control included these...
IMPA image processing (3 hours)
PSCM power steering
Then...
IPC instrument panel (CAN bus, 6 hours)
GWM gateway (USB)
APIM sync version 22192 (USB) 10:30PM
GWM gateway (CAN bus, 3 hours) 1:30AM

Sunday... Late start around noon.
APIM sync version 22293, skipped over 22228 (6GB USB, Alexa update) 2:40PM
Ford Pass message 3 years Alexa 2:43PM
TCU Telemetrics (USB)
GWM gateway (USB)
APIM sync version 23031 (6GB USB)
GWM gateway (USB)
TCU Telemetrics (USB) 8PM

So I received a used tcu from eBay since neither @Jesse-Infotainment or I was able to update my tcu before. I had done pretty much every other available update up to that point for other modules, but the tcu just wouldn't take. So I get the new (used) one installed, and it PMI's from the USB on the second try.

At that point I just start going through the updates that pop up after the previous finish. I think I did a couple apim, gwm, and tcu updates that seem to have gotten me up to 22087_PRODUCT Revision: 415 on sync.

There was a tcu and apim update available in FDRS so I started the tcu and it said that multiple modules would be updated, which ended up including the apim. After those finished, the tcu update disappeared, but the apim was still there, so I started that one. Same story it said multiple modules would be updated, but it was the same two at that point, and they both just skipped to the configuration upload and didn't prompt for any USB drive, which led me to believe that this was basically the same update as the tcu. Except this one doesn't go away and no new ones have shown up. I also noticed at that point that there is an error showing up for the tcu, something about incompatible configuration. I tried to pmi the tcu again and it errored out this time with the USB update, so I did a canbus update that seemed to have worked, but I still have the error for the tcu and the apim update has not disappeared.

I know I'm way behind on the updates, so maybe this has been covered before, but I'm at a loss again. I thought I was in the clear since I was finally able to get my sync up to a version that's not 3 years old, but everything seems to be stuck again. Is there a chance I might start getting OTA updates now? Or am I screwed again?

You need to refresh the update app. Next to update there is a refresh like a browser would have. Click that then run again

FDRS Noob.....
I guess I need someone to hold my hand. I downloaded all the appropriate software (I think) FJDS, FDRS, VCI Mgr., IDS.....I activated my Mongoose.....I created an account with Ford. When I hook up the cable to the truck and launch FDRS, after I do the "get VIN", I get an error message "Internal error". What am I doing wrong?

To anyone that has done the latest CMR update that has popped up for our trucks: How long did the update take?

I ask because I am taking my truck to the dealer on Thursday morning for routine maintenance, and I am going to present a valid customer complaint to them to get them to recalibrate my cameras and IPMA. I wanted to see if I can bribe the tech to do the CMR update for me, too. I'd rather spend $50 getting him/her a nice bottle of whiskey or whatever than give Ford $50 for another 2-day license.
