So my 21' f150 (Canadian import) is in the group affected by the SSM (Ver 23031). I got the letter yesterday saying that the software update was available but clearly my truck isn't updating on its own. Luckily I've not had any issues w/ my backup camera, so really the only options is to take it into the dealer. But, is the dealer going to be able to service the recall, if it's not taking updates?
They can do it manually. Does/did your truck get updates at one point or are you one of the trucks thats been on the same software from day one?

If you are not showing a pending update for the APIM, GWM, TCU or IPC, they will not be able to do it. Someone with FDRS access would need to check what you show pending or just take it to them and let them try.

Can't say I'm surprised. It's sad cause I've seen GM and Ram still try and help people on the forums.

Honestly, they were pretty worthless. It looked like they were responsive on the forum, but when you followed up with them, they would just direct you to the local dealer.

I purchased in March of this yr, I dont believe it has updated any in the time I've owned it.

I just got my truck serviced by Ford. They did rear screen software update. It took them 9 hours to download and install the update, and everything works fine, no issues.

My recall for camera was satisfied via an OTA update. Anyone else?
I guess so. I just looked and my sync version is 25094_PRODUCT revision 1779. If that means the recall is done, it was OTA. Haven't been near a dealership in over a year.

My VIN is 1FTFW1E56MFC85003 if anyone could help me. I got the letter today but mine's not showing any updates available. My version shows 23291_PRODUCT Revision: 1049. It has done at least a couple of updates in the past.

just got my notice in the mail. It says you will get a prompt asking if you would like to download the software when it’s available. Truck has to be down for at least 8 hours or you cannot let it download and take it to a dealer.

Not sure if it will auto download if you don’t drive the truck enough to see the software update will download screen.

If you have the "auto update" turned on you will be fine as long as your batter is charged adequately. There were no issues with my update.

I don't have the ability to see pending updates anymore. You can try posting in the VIN request thread, but there is only one other person on this forum checking VINs now so he may or may not respond right away.

What I can tell you is that your truck was sent a TCU OTA today that is sitting in your queue waiting for the truck to ping the serbver back to accept it. The TCU is part of the Sync modules, so this is good in terms of the recall in question. Go out to your truck and start it and check for updates. That should be enough to get the OTA trigger to start.

I will check it after work. I did notice that I have an "update complete" notice in FordPass today. It says software version 10.1.1. Enhanced connectivity and power management.

Finally got 25094_PRODUCT revision 1779 last night. The Ford app still shows the rear camera screen software update "incomplete" but maybe it just takes some time to update the status. Either way, I'm happy it finally updated.

My dealer did the software update 10 days ago and the Ford website also shows "incomplete recall". IDK how much time it takes to update the status.

So I finally got my truck back yesterday after 5 weeks in the shop for the rest screen recall. They replaced the tft module, I think that was the name of it. Telecom. Interestingly that's not the module the dealership thought was causing the problems so if I was out of warranty they might have replaced the apim first at my cost. They thought it was the apim cause that's the one that wouldn't accept the update. All the programming time and parts came to over $10k they said, mostly shop time. Yikes. Next plan is put in an H8 ordered the correct blanket yesterday.
