Right, as I think I mentioned in the original post, it's not there for just the recall. I lost all power to the rear, and while I didn't hear any grinding personally, I couldn't even get it to engage in 4WD, so yeah, I have no idea what's ultimately going to be involved in the repair.
you know that’s a good point yeah if you lose Ford motion, you actually cannot shift into four-wheel-drive. So yeah, you’re stuck in the road.

My bolts broke off my 2022 F150 6 months ago (May/June 2025) when I went to dealer to have the recall service performed. When I went to the dealership at the end of the day to get my truck, they told me they didn't have the parts. I scheduled a few weeks later at another dealership (July 2025). When I called at 3pm to see if it was going to be ready before the end of the day, they told me they didn't have the parts! In September I contacted Ford Customer Service directly and they said "so sorry, we will expedite this for you". A few weeks later I contacted Ford directly again. Same story. Still nothing. Unacceptable. I will likely buy a GMC next time.

Yeah, I'm pretty fed up. I finally submitted a safety complaint to the NHTSA https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#/vehicle/vehicle-information

This is the fist recall that comes up under my VIN along with the statement that "Ford has the parts blah blah blah". Which is simply NOT TRUE in the amalgam, especially if they have to replace halfshafts. I filed a safety complaint because I has a situation where it failed crossing a highway, but that doesn't mean you can't file a complaint regarding parts alone. I spoke with a rep who opened a case and said that more people needed to file actual ODI cases in order to prompt Ford to deal with this at a better pace and/or administrate and prioritize parts distribution on a case by case basis rather than piecemeal.
