Twice in the last few days I've gone out to disconnect my trailer and scare cr*p out of myself.
Glad to know this works so well. The second I pull the pigtail the alarm goes off.

Make sure the truck is unlocked. It triggers the alarm if the truck is locked and you unplug the trailer.

Just need to unlock the doors... Once the doors are unlocked (remote fob), you can disconnect with no issue.
I took jet skis out to the lake ystrdy and backed empty trailer in driveway lastnight. Went to disconnect to go get my monring coffee and.........
My fault...

If your trailer has LED lighting, when it is very dark outside you will see them pulse on very dim every 15 seconds or so.
I assume that is how the truck detects when the trailer plug is disconnected.

I've had mixed results with the trailer disconnect. I was camping once in the trailer, nobody was around, and the alarm went off because it thought the cable got unplugged. I don't know what the deal was, but I had it happen in the driveway as well. Hooked up and ready to go, but locked and I was inside the house. Alarm goes off, 'trailer disconnected'. This was all before that recall that reprogrammed the module so maybe it's something I need to re-test.

Well now I'm curious, since tailgate thefts are a thing, and there's a wiring harness in there for the camera etc.. does the alarm go off if the tailgate is removed while armed? I thought that's what you meant.

Have to admit, I read that a few days ago and was confused... So I guess that's a thing? My alarm goes off if the tailgate is opened let alone stolen...
