I'm waiting to hear back from Ford but has anyone come across this issue. I've been using FDRS for a while now with no problem.

I have never done this, but I can tell you the Mongoose is fully supported by FDRS and will work to program it.Just want to make sure I do not need a Bosch Mastertech or Rotunda VCM to do this…. And find out after I buy a Mongoose.
And the same thing just happened to me on my MY24 Lariat Powerboost. Except you also have to disconnect the battery under the passenger rear seat to completely cut the power.Same thing that happened with the IPC update when @aviator updated the IPC on his 2024 recently.
Correct.....on PowerBoost trucks, you need to disconnect the small 12v under the rear seat, too.And the same thing just happened to me on my MY24 Lariat Powerboost. Except you also have to disconnect the battery under the passenger rear seat to completely cut the power.
Ran the IPC update, followed all the instructions. Note that this update is a USB install, but also does some block related updates following the USB part.
Following the update procedure there was an audible clicking noise coming from near the driver side of the dashboard. FDRS said update failed, redoing the IPC update routine didn't work, and neither did a PMI selecting no for the original module install.
I disconnected the two batteries, gave it a few min, reconnected both batteries, reconnected FDRS and ran the IPC update routine again. This time it did not prompt me to insert the USB key and copy the update. It realized that the correct version was already installed, did some post update procedures, said successfully completed and the update disappeared.
Thank you!I have never done this, but I can tell you the Mongoose is fully supported by FDRS and will work to program it.
I’ve successfully updated my 24 F350 multiple times with the Mongoose and FDRS. Works great. My next adventure is going to be attempting to load the High Output strategy file on my Standard Output diesel via ForScan unless someone can tell me why it won’t work.Hello - I found this thread while researching what I need to do to program a new Restraint Control Module in a 24 F250…. Which led me to FDRS - And it looks like there is no better thread about FDRS than this one.. That being said, I went to the list of supported devices at the Motorcraft.com webpage and it says the Mongoose J2534 device suggested in the first page of this thread “provide support for model years 1996-Present with limited programming functionality”.
https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/FJDSSupport?categoryId=247
The limited programming functionality note concerns me… This webpage mentions the Bosch/Rotunda and Snap On devices “provide support for model years 2018-Present with FULL programming functionality”
I know this is a F150 and not a Superduty forum…. But has anyone been able to program a RCM in a 24+ vehicle with the Mongoose J2534 device? In searching this thread I did not see any RCM programming mentioned by anyone, but someone surely had to try by now.For that matter, is there any limitation at all with the Mongoose vs the Bosch/Rotunda device?
Just want to make sure I do not need a Bosch Mastertech or Rotunda VCM to do this…. And find out after I buy a Mongoose.
Thank you!
I don't know if it will work or not, but I can tell you that I sure would not shy away from trying it.I’ve successfully updated my 24 F350 multiple times with the Mongoose and FDRS. Works great. Have you tried this? Would love to try the same thing in my std 6.7 f250I’ve successfully updated my 24 F350 multiple times with the Mongoose and FDRS. Works great. Not yet. I updated a couple of other modules today and downloaded the latest HO PCM file. I may give it a try this weekend. I'll be sure to follow up with the results. I will likely log the boost, fuel pressure, etc before and after to see if it appears to have had any effect.Have you tried this? Would love to try the same thing in my std 6.7 f250
