Update. At this point I should have started my own thread on this

After a few key cycles I got a service engine light. I had errands to run and the wife was giving me the impatient look so I just flashed it back to factory tune file and cleared the codes. I may experiment a bit later and see what tripped it but I’m not sure it’s really worth the hassle.

Anyone notice the most recent version of FDRS says it won't update APIM? I was hoping to update mine here in a few days when my cable comes in. Anyone know anything more about this?

That's for some vehicles and not all. No way of really knowing how far you can unless you do all the updates it lets you do and see where you end up.

Hi rugedraw,
SSM 53966 that came out on 21 June this year can be interpreted to say that any vehicle with Sync less than or equal to 23187 will have APIM updates removed from FDRS. Have you noticed some people with that version or older be able to update APIM in FDRS over the last two months? If so that sounds like encouraging news for some!

Nope. People affected still do not show anymore pending updates for the sync modules.

Has anyone tried getting a locksmith to enter their NASTF credentials to update their BCM? I’m thinking of trying to stop at a few along my way today to give it a shot while I have an active FDRS license.

Turned down by locksmith number one. They said people like me hurt businesses like legitimate locksmiths, repair shops and dealerships :). I was willing to pay whatever their rate was and told him that but he wouldn’t budge.

Got everything ready to go (mongoose, license, USB, etc.).
Trying to login and getting this error.
I can login to motorcraftservice.com using the same account I use for Ford Pass.
Saw other post in this thread with someone having login problems and it sounded like they needed to wait a bit for the motorcrasft side of things to get the account going??
Thoughts on just waiting a little bit with this error and seeing if it let me in?

Chugging along last night. Got 14 of 17 updated using FDRS.
Down to TCU and IPC.
When trying to run TCU update it just sits on Establishing Comms.
FDRS is showing TCU Module Not Responding (makes sense why the update wont start).
I tried module reset in FDRS and pulling negatives on both batteries for 20 minutes.
Everything works as far as Ford Pass connecting to the truck. I can pull down refresh and it updates.
Any ideas?

In the toolbox tab, click the GWM and look for the TRON authorization procedure. I forgot exactly what it's called, but it is there in the GWM guided routine. Run that. If it does it too quickly, it did not work and you may have to do it a few times for it to work. Once you have TRON fixed, see if FDRS will recognize the TCU.

Thanks. Assuming the first option?
