ECU module programming guide using FDRS

The exact same files with a windows smb copy take about 4 minutes to a thumb drive from the same 3-pack, so far I am 47 minutes into FDRS copy.
Mind blowing. It’s like it’s CRC checking every bit as it writes it or something.

This speed makes springing for USB 1.1 pointless.

it’s not an either/or situation, it takes both the Mongoose and the USB to get there.

No I've tried thr USB route and get a USB error at end of thr install. Wondering of there is the long method via mongoose cable.

There may be hope after all. My truck has been at the dealer since Monday trying to get the update. They told me it would take a day and a half. So, figure 2 full days. With the help of @Jesse-Infotainment @rugedraw @ENG430 they looked up some things to show that the dealer was not performing as many of everyone here has. Just logged in to FordPass and this came up. Does that mean they have successfully updated it to give me BC?

I don't see any reason why you would get that if they didn't do the updates. That's great to hear!

So Amazon delivered it. I opened the package and the sticker in the back says Honda!!! WTF. Amazon label says Ford, but sticker in actual mongoose says Honda. I'm assuming these are not interchangeable. Ugh.

I would verify using the part number, just in case

I would trust thr label on thr device vs the stocking label on the Amazon package. But if you have the Parr number I'm happy to look in case I'm wrong.

I agree with you, the label on the inside is most likely correct, I don’t have the part number handy, but you might be able to find it on the back of the device and check it out.

That's THE reason for the vast majority of dealership failures. In my opinion, of course. And based on the countless examples of trucks that were successfully updated by the owner after the dealerships failed.

It's either arrogance or incredible lack of focus. Or both.

I don't enjoy bashing the dealerships. But they beg for it. This is NOT a training issue, unless you include telling the technician to "follow the directions" as training.

Employees as a whole are absolutely worthless anymore but feel they somehow deserve $45 an hour to accomplish NOTHING other than updating their twitter status or posting another stupid tik toc video on company time.

Does anyone have insight into why FDRS writes files to the USB drive so slowly?

I would assume it is checking the write to USB against the master as it goes to prevent a bricked module.

Question I updated my wife’s 2015 Mustang premium GT using FDRS and the mongoose adapter. She had cruise control and also it would maintain the distance before and now it doesn’t engage the cruise control at all. Has anyone ran into this issue or have any kind of insight that I can get it working again? Thank you in advance.
