There's 2 USB slots he can try and they're both side by side. The USB A, and C slot. The one in the center console won't work.

My USB-C port is working tried with a phone charger. but my USB-A port is not working wouldn’t register the USB stick nor my phone charger

If you've got a flash drive with a USB C it should work then. I don't know if an A to C adapter would work, but maybe.

If you have a USB stick that has both USB A and USB C on it, the truck will also accept updates from the USB C port on the dash.

Yes, both ports under the radio will work for updates.

If you have a USB stick that has both USB A and USB C on it, the truck will also accept updates from the USB C port on the dash.

Will have to get one of these USB A/C. Which makes me wonder if one can plug a phone into USB A to use AA and a USB c flash drive to play music at the same time. Something to try.

I never tried that, it would be a good thing to check out. I would think it should as it is a USB hub.
