I always struggled with updating and had multiple USB A drives to fight through it until I started using USB C since that's the only ports on my new computer.

I’m just happy as I can be that USC-C works! Cause I don’t have the time to wait on ordering a new thing to fix it! Ford wants $115 for it so probably going to order a new one on Amazon where both ports work again!

Hi guys,
I just got a Mongoose rental, and am trying to get a license for FDRS (I'm in Canada). Every time I try, it's telling me my "Billing information is not valid" , and won't go through. Any ideas what could be wrong? I created an account on the Motorcraft site without issue.
I've tried multiple cards now, and none will work.

You might send a private message to @Kanuck since he is in Canada and usually pretty active here regarding FDRS stuff and probably has the best knowledge to help.

You should check your fuses first.

Wish I would have found out earlier that my port wasn’t working!! Took only 5 hours to figure out it was the port lol I was getting frustrated so I just pulled the usb out which isn’t smart but I did and that’s how I found out it wasn’t working!

Put music files on it and try it. Could be you just had a bad USB stick the truck didn't like. As soon as you plug in USB with music it should show on screen it is reading it.

I plugged up my phone to the usb-a port and it didn’t work and if I’m not mistaken that it worked before

You should check your fuses first.

I don’t think there is a fuse for that. But if there is maybe someone can confirm that!

I have a pile of usb drives that my truck hates and my home theater receiver refuses to acknowledge also for updates. They are all name brand and the files copy over with no issues but the intended source will not read them.

Never any issues with SanDisk and I use same USB in my 2021 I used in my 2011 with sync 1.0

I don’t think there is a fuse for that. But if there is maybe someone can confirm that!

The service manual showed multiple fuses for the USB ports but I am not at work anymore to screen shot it for you.
