I think i have just brought my 2021 job 1 truck up to date. 21 hour marathon and a few hiccups but I got through it!

Only update remaining is the BCM, which sounds like it could be problematic. Should I skip it?

Not sure if this is the best place to post this but I could use some help. I just updated my 2022 F150 Platinum High using FDRS while performing the IPMA update, my computer decided to reboot for a windows update, just my luck. Of course there were a bunch of DTCs stored but I reinitiated the update and everything appears to have gone smoothly. Well since the update, I’ve noticed a couple gremlins.

Today my stereo was only playing from the right speakers and when I got home and turned the truck off, the “System Off to Save Battery” message appeared on my center stack screen and the truck was making a chime as if I left something on. I restarted the truck and all speakers started working but the truck continued to chime as if something was left on when I turned the truck off. On my next restart, the truck began to chime on startup. The doors were closed while this was happening… I don’t know what is going on.

Also, I thought the latest updates was supposed to enable Bluecruise to change lanes with the blinker? This does not work for me.

Are you still getting driver assist errors or did they go away? Did the IPMA update fall off your list of available updates, or is it still showing?

And no, the updates alone will not enable BC 1.4.

Edit: Disregard, just checked your VIN.

Does anybody have a Ford email contact for FDRS support? I keep getting the same passive aggressive "gentlemen" on the phone that insists they won't support Windows 11 and has nothing else to say. This despite my pointing out Ford and Rotunda themselves now only sell Windows 11 laptops to service techs.

BTW, I've tried every release back to 38.5.7. Nothing works (server authentication error). Reboots, tried difference nations at login, disabled router firewall/anti-virus, even disabled PC protections. No improvement.

I had an issue this morning, first time trying to run FDRS on Win11 and received server error. I started disabling background programs including Virus. I used several different web browsers to first log into Ford Service as suggested, still server error. Uninstall 40. and loaded 39. received the same error. Uninstall 39. and reinstall 40., rebooted, shut down background apps but forgot to disable my VPN, log on to FDRS app but this time a Ford Service logon popped up. Signed into the window, it disappeared and then FDRS signed me in. I’ve stopped and restarted FDRS 3 time with no issue, VPN running each time.

Whatever the secret sauce is, one thing is certain: FDRS access is shocking unreliable for 3rd party access. My Ford dealer says it's perfectly reliable, so this is clearly a lack of giving a shit for the independent users.

I forget to mention, I've tried telling it I'm in Germany, Canada, and South America. I don't have a VPN serice (don't like them), but perhaps I need to try one.

ShOrty, what VPN region worked? Outside North America perhaps?

FDRS support is likely focused on dealers and does not care about random users at home.

There are several posts of success on here. Some suggest opening Motorcraft website and logging in there first before opening FDRS to login. Can't hurt to try that?

For what it's worth I've always used Windows 11 but I haven't updated with FDRS for almost a year. Never had any issues getting into it. I'm sure one of the tricks people are using now will work for you. You'll get more support here than you will from Ford on how to make it work.

I was using a server in Kansas City. The FDRS app is using a pop-up for signing onto their server and then all is good. If Win blocks the pop-up you are stuck at server authorization error.

Don't mess with any of that unless your truck has a specific problem those config apps address or you are trying to add something to your truck it doesn't have.

Hmm.. Pup up blocker... Maybe. Guess I'll try that too!

my dealer is keeping my truck overnight because they said it takes around 5-6 hours to update all of the modules. does it typically take this long to update all of the modules?
