Just went through a full update on my 2021 F150 Powerboost Platinum Job1 truck after last updating it in 2022 for BC. I ended up replacing the 12V AGM battery today at nearly the 3-year mark due to low SOC error during the APIM update, even after being charged for 24 hours. Went through about 12 or so updates (APIM, BCM, DDM, PDM, TCU, IPC, CCM, ABS, PCM, SCCM, etc.). I had problems on two modules, the BCM and the IPC. The BCM programmed fine, but then failed at the configuration phase. Tried it again with the same issue. Reached out to Jesse and he suggested I perform a PMI. Prior to doing that, it would not complete the BMS reset procedure for the new battery either, but after doing the PMI, that went through. The IPC updated via USB, but then FDRS complained about a communication error, and the cluster was not happy. It was flashing that it was in valet mode, and other warnings. Restarted FDRS and tried it again, but this time it skipped the USB update and went straight into programming through the OBD2 port. After it finished updating and configuration, all of the weird warnings in the cluster went away.
It was certainly more eventful today than the first time I did this with even more modules, but it still had me out in the driveway on and off for about 5 hours today. All good now and no DTCs. My truck has a very good OTA history, but I wasn't driving it during December, and it missed the APIM and BCM updates, so I decided to spend the $50 and get the truck updated. I bought the PremiumCare warranty this week for 10 years, 100k miles, and also paid for BC for three more years for $600. With only 7,200 miles on it, the dang thing is still like new. lol
