I got lucky because I too installed FDRS on a new Surface Laptop with W11 and all went well.

First launch did trigger a firewall access prompt. Of which I enabled, of course.

Is that PCM update something that won't update OTA for you? Just wondering if there is any value in peeking at FDRS again, as long as the latest OTAs seem to have been working.

Sadly, I don't think PCM updates are delivered OTA?
If I'm mistaken, someone will come along and feed me my deserved helping of crow. :)

Hope you figure out the FDRS issue. Been using a Windows 11 laptop the two times I've run the older FDRS versions without issues.

I don't see reason to ever skip updates. If you paid for the license get them all while you have it. Just my thought on it.

Having once bricked my truck from a bad BCM update, I see plenty of reasons to skip updates...

@RetroMan It may be an FDRS issue. I have been having issues since yesterday. Its been up and down since then. So you may be running in circles over the server being down
Ya they do seem to be having server issues again today but yesterday while i was having issues with the new laptop i had no issue getting it installed on my desktop. So installed fine on windows 10 not on 11.

That's what I'm curious about. Looks like several of the OTA updates on Tonesto's Power-Up tracker show "PCM" in the list of modules being updated. However, none of those descriptions really talk about anything to do with shifting gears. Does that mean the OTA is capable of triggering the shift improvements and relearn, or are these changes more cosmetic only?

I've received 22-PU1009-MIL-PPO, for example about a week ago. Does that mean I'm "current" on PCM by definition that this latest one touched the PCM module, or is there something worth getting FDRS for (like you observed in your list)?

I had something odd happen in FDRS during a GMW update. I started the update and it ran some processes like configuring the module, updating the database, etc. but never actually installed a change or asked for a USB stick. Each time, once the process finishes, the update is still shows as available. The engineering number of the update and what is installed matches. I ran through the update cycle about 10 times thinking there were just a lot of updates but that doesn't seem to be the case. The PCM and ABS updates I did at the same time worked fine. Has anybody else had this experience with the GWM?

Try deleting the truck from FDRS and adding it back in and see if it's still there. Occasionally updates just hang from the update list for no rhyme or reason.

If Tonesto's site shows PCM updates delivered by OTA, then I deserve that helping of crow. :)

I don't know why I was under the impression that they wouldn't be, other than the fact I have used FDRS from the time Iceman created this thread, so never gave OTA a chance to do so.
