@Snakebitten is there any noticeable change after the DSP?
The update is worth it. The speakers are more clear and louder. I used to be able to listen to music at 30. Now the max I can take is around 25. The update is worth if. To bad it hasn't fixed the isssue with the speaker over my head that distorts sometimes.

I didn't even listen to the stereo after the updates. Just took the truck for supper to put enough miles on it to get past the no-EV portion of a new PCM strategy.

What stood out the most to me was what felt like a substantial increase in throttle tip-in for Normal Mode. I'm watching to see if that is short term or not.

Anytime you do a PCM update (powertrain in general) it resets the learned values, or so I'm told. So things like shift points etc. would all have to be relearned.

Yes, I fully expected that.
But throttle tip-in is usually separate from shift strategy. To me it feels like the tip-in, with the steering angle at straight ahead, is more aggressive for Normal Mode.
But is decreased, as usual, with the steering angle off-center like a right/left turn.

I just recently bit the bullet and updated the PB as well. Does anyone have any info as to why the IPC cannot be updated via USB for some folks? That CAN process is brutal, took close to 8hrs. Think i saw one post that mentioned a hardware flaw can cause USB updates to not work for the IPC. All other modules that use USB update fine, like the APIM or GW module.

Edit: I've always let the USB process set for about 4hrs, always have to fail it and go CAN.

The understanding I have from what @rugedraw has posted is that the Ethernet connection is no good on some IPC. I think this is only on some 21 job 1 trucks and fairly certain mine is one. Truck was stuck needing IPC update when I bought it, and had to manually install the IPC update this year as well after it failed OTA 8 times. Not sure his source on the info I think it's Jesse.
USB will fail almost immediately in my truck and the OTA would download files then fail. So supports the bad port theory. I doubt there is a fix for it either but Ford rarely releases IPC updates.

Interesting, thank ya for the info. So far, I've not gotten an actual failure or USB error msg, I always have to fail it manually in FDRS after sitting there for hours and hours and no changes with the USB inserted. I bet you are on to something, as my OTAs would also fail, but I never looked into the exact module failing, I bet it's the IPC.

Right, the Ethernet is not even working. It never even tries to update. Ive seen the issue several times. Seems ford had a batch that had a bad ethernet chip. Those same trucks also have OTA IPC updates fail.

The expert has spoken. :)

I have seen a ton of posts on the other forum where many are stuck on 22177 APIM. They can never get OTA to install to move forward, like my truck was when I bought it. I'm betting they also have bad IPC that broke the OTA process...

I had an APIM update on the MME that wouldn't install for several days be it automatically or user prompted. I rebooted it and it installed first try :ROFLMAO:

Sometimes turning it off and back on is just the trick it needed.

Reminds me of those old Apple commercials where the guy is trying to hook his PC to a projector....

"Re-boot." "Try Ctrl-Alt-Delete." "Edit Config.Sys" "Edit Autoexec.Bat"

You know in some ways things haven't changed all that much :)

Any easy way to reboot the IPC on these PBs before an update try? :)

Good morning folks i have not updated my truck in a year but OTA's recently have been failing so i decided to bite the FDRS bullet and grab 30day license. But i cant log in. Is anybody else having sign in issues? Are the servers down this AM?
