Same here generally, but I was hoping that even Ford couldn't do too much damage with a DSP update...
I absolutely love my Ford trucks (got 3 currently, 2012 F150, 2017 Transit van, 2022 Powerboost)

But I don't trust Ford's software team near enough to get at the front of the line. The whole OTA/Software brave new world is way too ambitious for me to trust at this point.

Guess I should have read this before updating today.

IPC update (truck kept failing 4.3.2 OTA for over a month).
I assume now I have equivalent of 4.3.5 because it was only one update.
DSP update
GWM update (not sure where the OTA equivalent is for this but showed up after IPC)

I really was only updating for the DSP because I've had weird speaker noises at random. Getting past the IPC updates that will never OTA in this truck was just a bonus.

I think Jesse mentioned in FDRS, 4.3.2-4.3.5 are combined in one update. I'm in the same boat with 4.3.2 failing 4 times via OTA, but I will wait until something more significant comes out before I give Ford yet another $50 for their shortcomings.

4.3.2 and 4.3.3 are IPC One for each file of the cluster.

4.3.5 is Gateway

Ok couple dumb questions...

Is the only way modules will ever update via FDRS/Dealer or do they eventually happen via the OTA Sync updates?

If the only way I can do it is via myself (FDRS) or the dealer, are updates included in my ESP that I got from Ford? (thinking it would otherwise cost a fortune in shop time)

I've done some basic mode Forscan successfully but this feels a bit more daunting. I have a NOCO Genius 5. Is that enough to keep things topped up during the updates?

NOCO GENIUS5, 5A Car Battery Charger, 6V and 12V Automotive Battery Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger and Desulfator for AGM, Lithium, Motorcycle, Deep-Cycle and RV Batteries, Battery Chargers - Amazon Canada

If it's an "on me" thing to tinker with, I'll try to find someone local to me to rent/borrow a Mongoose from. If the dealer will do it via ESP or whatnot at no cost, then I'll probably leave it to them.

Lastly, is there a list of the changes for the updates? That way I could troll through and see if I experience any of the issues, so I'd know that going into this might show me some tangible changes.

Since you have a PB, and its key on, engine off logic is to first burn the ~300Wh of usable HVB to power the 12v system, you can do key on engine on module upgrade prep. Your charger is fine for everything but something like an IPMA update. If it demands you to turn off the engine, having just run through an ICE cycle, your 12v generation is still alive via the DC/DC which provides accessory power to the vehicle until it runs out of HVB capacity (which turns off around 43% SOC). As such turning off as much of the 12v accessories you can (lights, air, etc....) will give you a longer 12v generation 'on-time'.

Even w/ a 6a charger, I wouldn't be concerned if the vehicle didn't have the ability to power the 12v system w/ engine off. APIM and GWM updates are done w/ vehicle running, it's just the IPMA updates that'd you need to really worry about. By connecting directly to the battery, you'll trick the BMS into thinking more power has come out of the battery than truly did thus triggering a faster charging rate between updates. That's when you'll see up to 15.2 volts worth of charging voltage. Once complete, charge the batt where the truck can see it and overnight the BMS will reset itself.

Just from my own experience, and not a recommendation, but I never start truck for updates when connected to a battery charger. The only issue is the 30 minute battery saving mode kicks in to turn off power but I have never needed accessory power on that long for any USB updates.

So you're saying that when you do a USB update and the instructions say to turn the Key on , Engine On, you're just leaving it in accessory mode?

Quick update: the more recent DSP update that showed up on FDRS installed OK yesterday, fixed the audio pop that the other recent DSP update brought with it. The newer one (G1924921) also no longer shows in FDRS. The older, crappy one (G2082709) still shows in FDRS though. I was wondering if there's a way to hide this update in FDRS? Or should I brave it and try to reinstall it?

I've included a picture of the Ford software team hard at work as well.

Correct. I did start it the first couple times when I did a two day update marathon but then I read in this thread someone said it isn't needed and stopped bothering.
Not saying everyone should do it but it works for me. I don't see point in starting truck to run it for 5-10 minutes and shut off again. If the update isn't done in 10-15 minutes then I know I'll have to use CAN anyway. Your updates may vary. :)

For me I installed the only available DSP update yesterday and it doesn't show up again in FDRS. B&O Unleashed. 2021 job 1.
