This morning I noticed the DSP problem-child update is no longer in my list. So hopefully they are re-wickering that and will re-release it. I still have the pop sound when opening a door.

SAME! Though I installed the other DSP update that popped up a couple days ago and that eliminated the popping sound when opening the door.

No pops for me. Installed the DSP update couple days ago. Confirmed no further updates needed. Maybe I got the good update.

Check your software version. If the installation of the “new” DSP software did what mine did, the reason yours is fixed is because the “new“ installation actually reverted your software back to the previous one that didn’t cause you a problem. My DSP software at F188 on the Unleashed went from -BN back to -BK.

I just logged in and they totally pulled the DSP out of my list of available updates. I never applied it due to people reporting issues. Now it's no longer available. Guess they pulled it... idk???
I have the regular B&O 8 speaker system

This is what you reported previously at F188: ML8T-14C589-AB.

I just double checked mine and it wasn’t a complete reversion. I went from -BH to -BN and then back to -BK.

Interesting on the DSP update - my software version is ML3T-14C589-BN now, I should have taken note of the previous version. There was only one DSP update available yesterday. I didn't notice any popping sounds since updating ('22 Platinum, 5.0).

I bought a 30 day license just to mess around and see what's up for the first stab at it. I'd say for me the investment in the Mongoose, charger and FDRS license probably wasn't worth it (for now), but I did bring everything else up to date - and it feels good to just have more insight into the vehicle I own.

The last update I received OTA was 3.5.4 in Feb. My truck sits a lot, so I am sure the updates failed to install more than once due to lower battery voltages.

30 days is definitely overkill. Your 2 day license is calendar days so buy on 10th you can use on 10th 11th and 12th until midnight.

Save some cash in future with the VIN lookup thread someone can check what is available.

Really once you have full screen AA/Carplay, rear camera in motion, and Alexa you are good. You gain nothing with 2023 updates (yet).

Agreed. I have 3 other 22's (XLTs) and 23 (Lariat) F150's, but I suspect they're all up to date or close to it similar to my primary truck.

Question about FDRS though, I see the technician ID is my username and it shows up in the history screens, but I also see previous connections to FDRS from the dealer but that doesn't show the technician ID. When I head back to Ford for anything, will they see that I've (with my username) been updating modules on the truck, or will they just see the updates were done by some other user?

Good question and someone with PTS dealer access would have to answer.

I'm curious as well but also not worried about it. If they see that you've been doing updates with FDRS as approved by Ford there is no concern with warranty if that is what you are thinking.

I know when dealer level access looks at my truck info on PTS I can see that in the logs, but I can't see anything like user info or even which dealer was looking at it.

Funny thing is by accident I was roped into the Ford universal login so my login to FDRS is the same as my login to FordPass. So it's going to be very obvious if someone at a high level looked at FDRS history and matched up with owner records. Oh well. Didn't intend that but I forgot which email I had used for FordPass. Oops.

You might be able to do w/ FDRS the same you can w/ the manual sub. Right before the trial ends, log out and then log back in and that could buy you another 24hrs 'free' if you keep the program running.

FDRS has to check-in with Ford servers it will cut you off. You do get a full 3 days of usage though so I would advise any first time updater like me to buy license and get busy Friday evening. Then you have all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Sunday I couldn't do anything before 1pm. It's better starting Friday to avoid the Sunday downtime. :)

PTS records every key-stroke done with FDRS. At dealers, the service department will have a few laptops with FDRS that are shared by all the techs, so it will not show a specific tech name as it is a yearly license(s) bought by the dealer and not an individual. So yes; if I can see that, then Ford can see that, too.
