Hi. Sorry I have been busy and I was traveling last weekend and got back late monday. SO I have been backed up with everything

This BCM update is the update that went out and was blowing up headlamp module. I rolled my BCM back and got it again via OTA. My first OTA in over a year.

I have heard from a few that got it OTA that no issues including me. A couple had the headlamps that were having issues. They said no issue in the OTA

They did change the deployment. The old update had a new strategy file install and then a new package. Now they are installing it in one shot.


So I dont want to say yes or no.. last time it was bad. All i can say I havent heard anything bad about it yet.

Worked fine for me, pushed via OTA!

I hate BCM's after the last time it turned my interior lights into a strobe party, but this one seems to have done no harm.

Yeah.. its that update rereleased. THe issue last time was they did it in to parts. If you only did the first part that is what would happen. The lights would pulse on and off. Until you did the second half.

With all of the modifications that I have done to the truck, would it be a bad idea for me to run the updates?

As long as you go in knowing the changes you made. You may have to redo them after the update. You can see if they have migrated online yet. If they have then youre fine. If not youre still ok youll have to reenter them afterwards.

Ok, easy enough, all but my steering column changes have been updated with the Ford cloud.

I just didn't know if different software updates are pushed to different trim trucks (i.e. a truck with reflector LED's gets a different software update than a truck with Projector LEDs), or if the software is all the same.

As for the sccm for example. You changed that out. That will be an issue. It wont update and you cant PMI it. Hardware mismatch. Maybe one day it will sync but doubt it. You may be able to go into FDRS if you have it and try the new add back heated wheel feature and see if that does it.

As far as the other changes if they were as build only. Only the changes of as build are what you need to worry about.

As far as software versions.. Nothing really has anything different. Even the SCCM with Heated runs the same as without.

Now if you went from push to start from key and replaced the BCM.. Then you would have an issue. The basic stuff though as long as its as build that is a standard as build in ford wont be an issue. When I say standard as build I mean something that is found in one of their vehicles.

Trying to purchase tonight for an update-fest this weekend and keep getting an error at the top of the payment and shipping page " Your card could not be authorized at this time. " even before I put in my card info. Tried entering two different cards and the next button is not doing anything.

I "believe" I got the latest BCM last week OTA just fine and no issue with my quad beams after the fact luckily, and all my BCM changes made it over as well and nothing was amiss when I fired it up the next day.

Are you running script and or ad blocks? Try a vanilla browser (incognito in chrome).

I did try incognito, I think it was something on my firewall. Was able to purchase from work.
Spent about 3 hours and got everything up to date, the APIM took forever.

The bottom one for $50. If you can wait, don’t buy it now. You’ll only have it for the rest of today, tomorrow and Monday. If you buy it tomorrow morning, you’ll have all day tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday to use it—effectively three days instead of two.
