My Job 1 2021 Platinum has been at the dealer for a week as they try to get the thing updated from 1.7 up to current with BC. As of today, I have to pick it up for a trip but plan to drop it back off next week so they can continue working through it with Ford (they have a case open and sounds like they've been going back and forth with the tech line)

Amazing that in November 2022 they still don't have a grasp on this. I hoped by waiting a little that they would be able to get it done without me having to go the FRDS route... so far, not so good.

I would be very curious as well.... I even sent them the docs for TSB for the stuck at 1.7 procedure and the customer satisfaction program.

One of the largest dealers in FL, was hoping they had gotten this procedure down by now. I can only assume that 95% of the early 2021 trucks have owners, that don't know/dont care what the updates can do.

At least they did all of the recalls and TSB for the rear window rattle

I would like to know also. When I had the unstick 1.7.1 CSP done they had my truck for 2 days and according to FDRS history, touched it for about 45 minutes total. Once, for about 15 minutes at 4:00PM, after getting the truck before 9:00AM, and then early afternoon(!) the next day. And still didn't do the APIM and other updates they were supposed to! Which could be why it stayed stuck. Now the truck is fixed and more awesome than it was.

There is no trace of any update for anyone. To top that off my bench date changed and its not been connected in days to nternet services

A true mystery. My only thought is a self extracting file or auto date change

What a strange turn of events. After 7600+ messages about OTA and FDRS issues we are asking how we got an update proactively rather than why we didn’t. And it’s an update that apparently didn’t cause any problems, to boot.

Updated the APIM on my 22 302a and all went well. It wound up taking over 2 hours to download and copy 38 files to the USB so i disconnected the truck and let the laptop finish inside overnight. Kept the same FDRS session open and reconnected when the APIM update finished. All file checks and configuration passed, then a TCU update popped up and I did that too.

Im surprised to see my Forscan changes to the APIM have persisted through the update. The unreal engine active and climate controls are still there.

HA! I bought the episodes of The Shadow, Green Hornet and The Whisperer! I loaded them on an ExFat formated USB drive and with any luck it will work in my 2022 Lariat when I go to pick it up from Granger, hopefully soon. These will be for passing the time on the drive home, 1100 miles.
