I didn’t intend to cause this controversy by posting my screenshot!

All I was really looking to do was get full screen CarPlay and figured I paid for the cable and license so I might as well apply any other updates that were available. I didn’t even realize I had updated BlueCruise until someone noticed it in my screenshot.

I was joking about the controversy but all kidding aside, I am glad I was able to provide something back to this community even if it was just this small nugget of information.

There is so much valuable information here and there are so many people willing to help (and I only got one response to one of my questions telling me to go read 500 pages of information for my answer!!!!)

Yeah. Mine actually has the updated date. (13-04-23) Not sure when that happened.

I’m guessing they have an auto date change built into the last update.

I am going to do a network scan on my truck to see if the file updates online for the BlueCruise maps. As of now it shows AAF. See if it changes to AAH

My parking brake was on yesterday morning and all of my settings were reset. I just assumed a small update came through for the maps. Didn’t have time to dig into it.

Another data point - my Lightning has also been updated to 13-04-2023. We have received a few recent updates, but our code bases are very close to the same now. Likely ours updated however yours did.

As amazing as all the tools and information that we DO have at our disposal are, we do NOT get to see the programming/logic/code that runs on these trucks. It'd be so easy to add a line of code, or a routine, that is triggered by a date. (or many other types of triggers)

And based on the shear size of the combined files of the various updates? The amount of lines of code is staggering, considering we used to drive trucks that had ZERO digital code.

I'm old. So to me it wasn't that long ago.
