Battery Suggestions

I've been reading a boat load of threads regarding batteries, well I'm in the market for one, factory battery finally bit the big one.

2022 F150 Supercrew 4x4 Lariat 5.0 FX4 with all the bells and whistles.....I'll also be tweaking the battery monitoring system through Forscan.

Price isn't an issue , just want reliable ...any recommendations welcomed.

H7 or H8 AGM with a good warranty and retail chain incase you need a replacement.

When replaced, reset your BCM

Key on engine off
Brights flash 5 times
Brakes 3 times
Battery light flashes 3 times
Your done.

Get the Ford 850CCA AGM - link in my sig. Get the insulator blanket too.
I did this - it fits.

I just changed mine. Went with a H7, 860 CCA or so, because I am cheap and the H6 OEM blanket fit the H7. Canadian Tire 5 year replacement with 100 month pro rated.

Costco Energizer H8 AGM, 900 Cold Cranking Amps. Bought it mostly due to the warranty (5 year limited, 100 months prorated). The manufacturer is Clarios (formerly Johnson Controls) and they have a good track record. After my experience with Motorcraft batteries in this truck and in my work fleet I wanted to steer clear.

I went with the Interstate H7 for my STX. Always done well with Interstate and at $169.99 from Costco no one could beat it. Tried to use the H6 blanket and it ripped. Got The bigger one ( KL3Z10A687B ). fit great.

Got an H8 battery for my 2022 Lariat today from Walmart. When doing the BCM reset I never got the battery icon in KOEO with the door closed. I did get a low state of charge warning message. I did the BCM procedures 4 or 5 times. Anyhow it seems to be working since the engine shuts down at lights now.

With mine, it took 5-10 seconds after the BMS reset procedure completed for the battery light to flash.

BMS did reset. The truck is happy. Engine shut down on stop that hasn't worked for months is working again. Turned back on fold mirrors on lock and approach lighting again. I did get the H8 battery insulator from the dealership a while back. If your H6 battery is tired I highly recommend going to the H8.

Did get the H8 for the truck, amazing how everything does work now again, but it is also ridiculous how dependent these trucks are in a battery compared to the old day, but happily satisfied. Got the Die Hard H8 from Advanced Auto , had no prorated warranty for 48 months , and I added a little more on top of that with extended protection. Reset BMS , and haven't had a bit of issue or notification since , been 2 weeks

Yesterday on two 45 minute drives my battery was showing 66% SOC and was charging at 1 amp… guess I’m going battery shopping for Black Friday
