Hello guys, I have a ‘21 and I’m looking to buy a new battery soon. It’s not really giving me problems but I think it has run it’s course together with the battery knowing to suck I know some of y’all needed a new one like a month in.

So, what is the best battery brands, models, types for our truck? I don’t mind paying a big premium for a fancy name if it’s really better

Thanks!

I've had very good service from Walmart (yes, Walmart) Everstart batteries for decades.

At $179 with a 4-year free replacement warranty (not pro-rated) IMO another great advantage is that there are Walmart stores most anywhere you might be travelling IF you have a problem.

I've only had One 'fail' before the warranty was up and the warranty replacement was zero hassles; most, including the 6-year old currently in my 2005 F150, last far beyond warranty.

Note that your 2.7 battery tray may allow a higher capacity H7 Everstart or even an Everstart H8 to fit (my 3.5EB allowed drop-in replacement of the H6 with an H8). The price is the same for all of them, so why not?

Just for your consideration.

I'm partial to NAPA batteries... Have found them reliable. Had one bought out on the Island of Guam (batteries are known failure items because Guam is so close to the equator and sustained heat eats batteries), it failed within the warranty and after I got back to the states... the local NAPA guy didn't hesitate a second to make good on it. So if you get one go out and get a good AGM type battery charger and put your new battery on a low rate charge and let it go to completion, likely 10 or so hours.

BTW, don't forget to reset your BMS ...

Battery Sensor Reset
When you install a new battery, reset the
battery sensor by doing the following:
1. Switch the ignition on, and leave the
engine off.
Note: Complete Steps 2 and 3 within 10
seconds.
2. Flash the high beam headlamps five
times, ending with the high beams off.
3. Press and release the brake pedal three
times.
The battery warning lamp flashes three
times to confirm that the reset is
successful.

More FYI - if you decide to install a larger battery, as long as you stick with an AGM-type there is no need for any system reprogramming in the Gen 14 F150; it is already set up to use the BMS and associated algorithms to charge to optimum condition.

Great minds something something, 4 year non-prorated warranty.

I was pretty sold on an Interstate Battery for my truck when I replaced/upgraded, but recent revelations regarding proration of their 3 year warranty and discovering the 4 year non-pro-rated warranty on Everstarts, makes the decision easy imo.

Once upon a time I was an Optima truther, but having one bite it two months out of warranty for the price really stung.

The battery warranty recently became pro-rated, they’re still a decent value, but for a few bucks more you’ll get battery with a much better warranty.

I use Odyssey Batteries. I used to use Optima, but found Odyssey to last longer.
