Of course I would be happy with a magnificent Coyote F-150. ?

It’s just fun to haggle over dead horse flesh during the summer doldrums.

I'm going to try to get this thread to 10 pages.

The 3.3L is the best engine Ford has ever made.
We're almost there boys...

I raced a power boost and a lightning in my eco tremor. Even with the tremors peppier gearing I got my ass handed to me ?

Just curious, why is "The 5.0 is much easier on the transmission..."?
In reading other threads this week, they spontaneously combust less, and if they do catch fire for some reason, the fire can be quickly put out before the transmission melts.

Your family and pets (and innocent bystanders) will also not perish from toxic clouds.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
Just remember to park your PB about 40' away from any structure.

Love my Powerboost. I rented a 2023 F-150 5.0 when I traveled to Missouri for work. I ended up really missing my PB more than I thought, I didn't realize how much work the electric motor was assisting with. Also really love hybrid idle.

That said, the 5.0 was really cool. It sounds beastly when opening it up. It can spin those tires and it's clear that it's a lighter, livelier option. Surprising efficiency too. I would be perfectly happy with the 5.0. Especially the Tremor option.

Consumer Reports rates the Power boost F-150 less reliable than the other Ford F-150 trucks with regular turbo v6 EB and 5.0 engines. ?‍♂

Tremors are a tick slower than a regular F-150. Remember your 34” tires take away any advantage the 3.73 gearing gave you before you add the factory lift in.

I haven't driven a PB, but I know they have more torque down low where it's needed for towing, it can be drive more economically (why anyone cares about economy with trucks this size is beyond me). You have made a fine decision.

I have wanted a V8 for 40 years, so nothing was going to stop me getting a 5.0 while I could. At my age, it is all the power I need, tows up to 4.5 metric tonnes, and has already gotten me 2 speeding tickets from overtaking people. It's a fine decision for me. I'm sure you'll get many opinions, but that, including mine, is what suits the person stating that opinion. ?‍♂
I'm just pissed that you got a ticket for passing someone, I thought you were supposed to be able to pass without getting one? I mean, if the guys only going 5 mi under and you have to pass him you want to do it in a timely fashion, so of course you're going to be going faster than the speed limit, that's ridiculous, I'm irritated and I'm not even the one that got the ticket.

Ordered my PB in April 2024 and took delivery in mid July. Started to read all I could on the forums about the F150 since it was my first. Of course, engine type came up repeatedly and I thought I made a mistake buying the Powerboost over the 5.0- the 5.0 fans ranted about it being ‘legendary’, of course better sound, better range with rpm’s, longer longevity, better highway mpgs, etc

A buddy of mine came to visit with a rental - a 2023 5.0 with 33K miles. He let me drive it and I could not believe how bad the engine performed vs the Powerboost. It was literally night and day. Just was wondering if any of the guys who espouse the 5.0 have ever driven the Powerboost?
I went with the 2.7 due higher MPH 21.2 to 22.5 in town and Highway at 23. I don't tow but about 2 times a year. The 2.7 has 325 Hp and 400 ft lbs. Just 10 less than 5.0. Priced the PB but the cost was to high for what I would get for the cost. The PB is a good setup over the 5.0.

I know, right? Just because I was doing 160kph by the time I had to pull back in, and instead of jamming on the brakes to get back unde the limit I coasted around a couple of corners, an unmarked grey bmw saw me at 133, reckoned he was slow locking me in at 126, gave me between 15-25 over which admittedly was nice of him because I didn't lose truck and licence for 3 months ?

$400 and 3 demerit points (out of 12 that now take 3 years to expire) - I'll "test" my brakes next time. It's no wonder you get stuck behind a line of 20 cars who are afraid to overtake a horse float doing 15 under the limit on a single lane each way road ? Vive Le "Nanny State" ?

Just another quiet night keeping the valves clean. Notice the transmission drops to 5th and the boost jumps a wee bit ?
