Yep. My Star White Platinum 702a has lots on the hood. I was taking it back to the dealer Monday for PPF which is paid for but now I'm reconsidering after seeing the orange peel. Abt thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.@bfastr every 2024 on the lot was the same. Wondering about anyone else's 2024.
Guys, golf balls have dimples for a reason. This was engineered into the paint, and is NORMAL. Just like any issues brought up to your Ford dealer ! ?
Hello, I would like to take a look on my end regarding your paint concern. Could you send us over a message with you VIN and estimated mileage to get started? If you have received your 2024 F150, please look at your paint and see if there is orange peel. Mine was delivered yesterday and inspecting it today I noticed the ENTIRE paint job has a significant orange peel. My salesman and I looked at all their other 2024's on the lot and they are the same. The other models on the lot DO NOT look orange-peeled. My wife's 2024 Escape is glassy. My 2021 F150 is glassy.
Here is a photo and you can see the blurriness of the reflections and the orange peel. How does your paint look?
Enlarge the image and the orange peel is very visible.

My '23 in Carbonized Grey looks the same. IMO it's one of those things that you have to be intentionally looking for to notice, so it doesn't bother me.Here is my 23 in Avalanche

This. You notice it more on the curved panels at the right angle. IMO painting a truck without any orange peel is pretty rare unless there has been paint correction. No way Ford or any mass production manufacturer is going to paint correct thousands of cars/trucks off the line. Maybe worse in 2024 than before. I noticed it on my 2022 and it is there on my 2024. My wife's Lexus GX has some orange peel on sections as well. Clay bar would help with it. Micro sanding would fix it completely, but then you would probably have to get a professional ceramic job.My '23 in Avalanche looks like this at the right angle. Honestly, I think the majority of F150s have been like this from the factory for years, but it is much more noticeable on the darker colored trucks.
