I thought we just had a post from a member that Ford did cover it?
Yes, they did. 10 months and 8800 miles after purchased.
The work order shows:
"Customer states there is a paint defect located on the roof. Customer requests estimate".
The at the bottom under Repair, it shows:
Confirmed customers concern, found paint defect on roof of vehicle. Contacted Dealer Decision Assistance Request.

I have a 2023 space white that is at 33,000 miles that has the same exact issue as the op. I first noticed a spot above the windshield that was light brown in color which I thought was a big splatter only to find out it was paint peeling. I then went looking down the roof gutters and found the same cracking and peeling. I immediately called the dealer where I bought the truck from, but since they don't have a body shop I was sent to another larger dealer near by. They took pictures and sent it in for warranty and it is currently in the body shop.

While it was there I pointed out a defect in the tailgate that my purchasing dealer never fixed, and they are fixing that as well.

Ford is fixing this all under the 3/36 warranty.

Maybe Ford has underwent changes the last few years, they used to be one of the most difficult companies to get to honor a warranty for paint and defects. They even told me to fly a kite when my 2023 had 2 bulbs burning out like 3 weeks after taking possession with 1,000 miles on the truck. They stated light bulbs, windshield wipers, tires etc are all non-warrantable items. Understandable as people drive like idiots and do dumb things, and paint is more severe. Good to hear they are stepping up!

My 2023 has an intermittent issue now where the drivers side door switches stop working altogether occasionally. I have a feeling Ford will tell me it’s a non warrantable item as well :cautious:, in my experience that is their response to everything. “Oh it must have got wet when the window was open at some point, that’ll be $700 please”. Lol.

I just got my driver window switch replaced under warranty 2 years in

they said it’s a very common maintenance item seen up here, my passenger rear window was stuck down and I had to short two wires with a multimeter to get it back up while we waited for parts

Hi there, James. This driver side door switch concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? To send a private message, just click on our username and select "Start Conversation". I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

Was 2021 F150 Powerboost now 2022 PB Platinum
I'm wondering if the paint failure has something to do with the trucks sitting waiting for parts?
For Example my replacement truck's paint was horrendously contaminated after it sat in Dearborn for 4 months through the dead of winter waiting on "chips". It had rail road dust, acid rain and fallout all in the paint and glass. It was so bad even the new car sales manager new about it based just on VINs. They corrected it but my point is northern winter climate [dearborn and kc], iron dust from railyards + salty solution for roads with the mist of cars going by sitting on paint in channels is a recipe for failure. Couple that with a bonding area for multiple pieces of stamped metal = not good.

As an oxford white with owner i'm deeply concerned with all the findings here.

Oxford white here as well. First thing I did was have my detailed do a decontamination wash to remove all that fallout and get a solid ceramic coat on it. Paint has been great since. really the only thing you can do. My 01’ Oxford white excursion never got any love to the paint (maybe waxed 3 times in 15 or so years), sat under trees etc on the farm. Ended up having the roof and hood repainted due to the original paint just flaking off. Gotta maintain a good layer of protection on these things

Been fighting with Ford since October 2023...they won't cover it.

I'll be sanding down the paint with 3k and 4k sandpaper and painting it myself with some Oxford white paint and clear coating it then spending time to buff it smooth.

Such bullshit that Ford takes our money yet fails to provide "good faith" to customers as this is a known problem or take actions to fix an issue that's been happening since 2015(ish). I've had more issues with my two Fords (2019 and 2021) than I ever had with my 2009 RAM with almost 200k on it. Ford QC absolutely sucks ass. I paid cash for two trucks and have nothing but issues and they fail to help out a customer. Once this truck falls apart I won't be returning to Ford. Not sure who I will go to next but Ford has lost a customer when I go to buy my next truck.

Just finished washing my truck. As I climbed up a ladder to wash the soap off the roof, I saw this.

Took care of it myself since Ford is complete trash.

Wet sanded, wet sanded, and wet sanded some more. Put down some cleaner, primed, painted, clear coat, wet sanded some more, the compounded the roof. It didn't come out perfect by any means but better than the peeling paint. Good thing it's up on the roof. **Pics of completed paint are before I compounded the roof to bring the shine back out. I used Meguiars Ultimate Compound wt a DA Polisher**
