The fiberboard thingy is I believe for sound deadening and maybe some aerodynamics. It is not meant as any sort of skid plate or protection. It is pretty much useless and will likely get torn off quickly if you do any off-road driving. I removed mine immediately, most folks do.
I'm short on...

damn, sorry that didn't work out!
I ended up not doing what I had planned.
Replace front dif cover with Ford Raptor cover (has drain plug). Kind of an involved job, have to take out the electronic power steering rack to provide enough clearance.
New front diff fluid
Replace rear diff cover...

4WD, 4W Torque Vectoring-
or front or rear wheel drive-
Hybrid drive, or electric motor only, or ICE only.

Thanks for sharing, @HammaMan
I have been researching the heck of this as well. Mag Hytech sells the Lube Locker brand gasket for the Super 8.8 12 bolt.

I'm in CA also.
Food for thought-
Your 2023 has a 3 Year bumper to bumper and 5 year power train warranty from Ford, yes? So there is nothing to worry about for those coverage time frames. And hopefully your truck is a solid and reliable one so you won't be taking it in very often. Maybe never...
